The Old Doctor Butler's Head has served Moorgate since 1610, named after King James I's court physician, with the current building dating to just after the Great Fire of London in 1666. It's known for cask ales and restaurant-standard food, and closes to the public at weekends so the whole pub can be hired for private functions. Down an unassuming alleyway, it's a short walk from Moorgate station and the City's main sights.
