Some concern over the environmental impact of bio-degradable plastic bags back in 2011...

They were crap used to biodegrade at the till

Well this woman is a bit dim and seems to have missed the point entirely. Ha.

The rules and regulations surrounding this are quite bizarre.

Watched an article on the News the other night ...

If you buy raw fish/meat you will not get charged for the bag UNLESS you buy a product eg a bag of pasta, then you need to pay for the bag.

What a load of rubbish !

Why not just say it applies to every purchase and just get people used to taking their own bags in or accept the 5p charge

It's a good idea, but I fear the 5p price isn't high enough to really get people to bring in their own bags. At least the money raised is going to charity. This is better than in California, where the bag fee has become a windfall for companies who had already factored the actual cost of bags into their operating costs.

Don't really think it needs to go up , although I do buy a bag as it is then used for rubbish afterwards . Although I do think the much better bags could increase
