I recently had a discussion with a guy from QYPE i liked the ideas they have and decided to sign up, all was well till i had signed up, i had a few queries with them, nothing major but i emailed them 7 times in all, and still have not had a reply from any of them, i have phoned and was told that i would have a reply to my questions by close of play Monday just gone, it is now WEDNESDAY AND I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING even though i have left a message on their answerphone. i will be glad when 6 months is up and i will close the account, in the meantime i would NOT advise people to sign up. unless you know a good reason to sign up that is.

Hi Steve,

I'm really sorry to hear that you've had such a bad experience with us
I'm the new B2B community manager at Qype and I'd like to sort this out for you asap today and find out what happened our end.

Could you kindly send me a private message with your email/phone details so that I can contact you directly myself and help you out?

Alternatively, if you give me the name of your listing/business, I shall find you via Qype easily too.
Thanks a lot,
Geri

Hi

Pleased to say that this afternoon i did get a call, but i was on a job, but i did ask for a call 30 minutes after so that i could be home, and i did get the call and we seem to be sorting things out and hopefully we get some work from the advert. we have offered discounts to QYPE readers of our site and taken the discount vouchers off of our websites and just left them on the paid advertising.
we are also advertising soon that we will be accepting card payments at no extra cost to our customers, hopefully that helps as well.
unfortunately most customers wont say that they saw us specifically other than googled, i dont think they actually look, as long as they get us they are happy, And so are we.ithas2bedone.co.uk

Thanks,

I would be interested to find out what you paid for you Qype ad?

It seems a bit expensive to me. I consider them to be similar to Yell (and Yell have a bad reputation at the moment). Yell have a more established name. Yell also seem cheaper. I am not knocking your decisions.

The main value I see from Yell and Qype is the value of links.

I advertised on Yell 3 years ago and did not get ROI.

What would be interesting is to see how many enquiries you got through the Qype site. Yell give you this number that allows you to monitor the volume of calls recieved through their site.

Final note, I am a bit cynical about refund promises from big companies like this. As long as there are not loads of small print, then it may be a good deal.

Yep i know what you mean, i was with Yell for ages and had very little work from them, i went to their free adverts and had no end of work, they also have just quoted me a higher price than this high price with Qype, i would not normally pay that sort of money out and so my expectations of them are high anyway.
I certainly wont be renewing with them cos i have had too much aggro in the first month. albeit it was a bit of a misunderstanding by both parties, but i am the layman here and i expect people and suppliers to do as they say they can do, especially when i pay for t.
As far as refunds go, the small print does state that i can get out after 6 months and i must admit that at this moment in time it will be put to the test, i know i am getting the figures with QYPE but to give an idea i had 49 visits to my QYPE business advert in the first month, and the following visitors to one of my own sites WEEKLY 286, 400, 399, 504, 443. and on my new site which is the one that QYPE are also advertising i had the following visits WEEKLY They only had 49 for the MONTH 123, 67, 185, 179, 129, 168, 143, so you see i am getting the visits in my own right but i wanted the commercial side of the business to take off more so which is where QYPE should have been going as per the original conversation with them.
Still we shall see.
i will keep you posted.
Also most of the better sites i have found on both my pest control and mould businesses have been the local sites and free sites they bring in a lot of local work and get me high on google.

Thanks,

I agreee with you on most of the things above. I am very interested because I am considering it. Ours is 90 b2b and a small fraction is b2c.

I advertised with Local Mole once (part of the Trinity Mirror Group) thinking it had good backing and links with so many newspapers - total waste of money.

I suppose the bottom line, or what I really want to know is: the site that you are advertising with Qype, is it getting more traffic to your domain not your Qype advert. Sorry, as I wasn't sure what to make from your figures. I find that if it leads to them landing on our site then the chances higher for that turning into an enquiry. It might be different case in your business.

If it get's more traffic (descent amount) to your site then I am interested.

Ryan
