I am delighted to report that the Parish Chest sales are well up on this time last year.

Back in February, we attended the, 'Who Do You Think You Are' event at Olympia where I had an interesting chat with a customer. The lady informed me that she rarely, if ever bought things at fairs and events, but would happily buy them online from the Parish Chest as then you didn't need money, just a card.

I must have looked rather perplexed at this statement, as she went on to say that using a credit card is not like actually spending money, so she never worries about what she is buying.

The best bit of all was that her husband and the group of friends that were with her, agreed with everything the woman said. I was truly stunned!

Oh dear. I mean, I agree that it's easier to keep track of spending when you're doing it with cash, I also think that money seems like more money when you hand over several

Depends on whether you most want to avoid feeling guilty or being in the red I suppose ....
