Only listing in Google places isn't enough. Add videos and photos and all informations regarding your website. Also ask your customers to write reviews for you for better exposure.

In term to rank high and be on the Googles 1st page your local listing need to be optimized well. The optimization process involves a regular monthly maintenance. These listings like a cars they need maintenance so they give you maximum experience In this case customers.

You have to submit as much information as you can about your business. The description need to be optimized with your keywords which will trigger your listing so it can find the right person in the right time All the time.

Upload nice quality pictures (upload 10 thi is the maximum) and the you can post new pictures regarding you busieness. These pictures can be anything just shoot an everyday life in your business or you can make photos of the creation any of your product etc.

Same thing with videos. You can create endless videos example start with Introducing your team etc...

Every month you need to submit it to different online directories (free and paid ones to) to get back as many links as you can. This is what is called Citation.

Collect genuine reviews! These fedbacks can improve ranking and also help you business gain credibility. It is worth to atleast try it!

So to rank well on search engines it takes little time but the final result will be is priceless!

Lot of people create/claim their listings and hope tons of new customers, but they missing a lot of information just like thinks I have written above.

Hope this helps

Interesting to hear that. Citations always used to be the trick with google places, is this still the case then with google local in this post panda/penguin world?
