Hi everyone
I've just watched an ezinearticles.com video that's answered a question I asked on another thread in MLF. Depending on niche, the presenter suggested you'd need at least 50 articles published before you'd see any significant effect on your web site's stats. Elsewhere, there were suggestions that you'd need at least 250 articles published to achieve the same results.
Would be interested to know of other MLFers' experiences. I've only got 3 articles published so far and was hoping for a pay off at a much earlier stage!
Best wishes, Linda
But what does 'significant' equate to? I could double your traffic within a month. Is that sigificant? What are you actually aiming for in a way that can be measured? Ultimately, its about conversion from landing on your website to enquiry so that should be the real goal, not number of articles. 4 quality articles could blow 50 naff articles out the window in terms on conversion, not in terms of generating loads of useless traffic. indizine indizine
Yes one quality article driving huge traffic then numbers of low quality articles. Your article title should be aim to the right point. There are some quality given that must we added in good quality article. 1. Select a good article title 2. Article should be interesting 3. Article should be focused on topic 4. Select good words proval123
Thanks for replies. ![]() I'm working on the premise that all ezine artices will be competently written items (ie both a reasonable read and OK as regards keywords selection) authored by people with something interesting and useful to say. What surprised me was to be advised that as many as 50 articles (or more) would be needed just to achieve a noticeable and lasting increase in site visitors. Is that MLFers experience please? I agree that what's of real interest is the number of conversions achieved after enquirers have landed on the site. It seems to me, though, that widespread visibility within one's target market could be an important contributor to the number of visitors and therefore one's chances of converting. There are other things I need to be doing on my site (eg new keyword analysis for its different pages) ... and I am doing them as time permits. At present, though, my question is only about the ezine issue. Any advice gratefully received! Best wishes, Linda Linda CareersPartnershipUK
Article submission is the good to drive traffic to your site. But for that you need meaningful, proper title. In the article body you explained in detail about the title, other detail info and also include keywords of your site.
Another small point .... Suggest MLFers writing articles for DoFollow ezine links on the EzineArticles site should check their Google Analytics results to see the links are actually productive. I've just done this - and a very high proportion of my 20 anchor text links that should be reported by Google Analytics aren't. The links were correctly placed and tested when the articles were written and subsequently when I discovered summat technical was wrong. Naturally, I've been in touch with EzineArticles support to ask their advice - they haven't yet had time to reply. Would be interested to hear whether this problem is something any of you have experienced and whether you've found out what caused it. Linda CareersPartnershipUK
“The links were correctly placed and tested when the articles were written and subsequently when I discovered summat technical was wrong.” Do you mean the physically links aren't showing on the articles? Or the value of the links has been degraded and isn't showing as a back link in your tools?
Thanks for reply, Steve. I think I mean the links are "degraded" - but I'm not sure I've properly understood the term. I'd better go the long way round and say exactly what happens, leaving you to work out what it all means! Whenever I click on all the anchor text links in the EzineArticles Author's Area, the appropriate pages of my site come up. Whenever I check the links to my site using Webmaster Tools, a large number of those EzineArticles links don't appear. Using anchor text links wouldn't stop Webmaster Tools from being able to identify them, would it? As far as I know, EzineArticles haven't changed their stance on DoFollow links. I believe a change of policy was tentatively put forward some months ago and quickly dropped when many authors said if EzineArticles withdrew the DoFollow links they'd stop sending the directory any more articles. Would appreciate any light you could shed on this ..... Linda CareersPartnershipUK
I'm with you, the links are working fine, your just not seeing them being reported. Anchor text wouldn't be an issue. Never been a big article person, so maybe someone can offer a better insight, but I suspect (guessing) with the recent google panda upheavals, that the links may have been degraded/devalued in perceived quality. I've got a few old articles on EzineArticles, and just checked WMT, I can still see my links, so doesn't look like they've done anything untoward. Just had a nose at your links in Yahoo Site Explorer, and I can see ezine links there (see graphic). Site explorer supposedly lists the links in order of importance, quality etc, and the first ezinearticle link shows up at 304 ![]() Good to see you have buckets of MLF links in there!
Well have you not thought that the owner of ezinearticles might have his interests ahead of yours? So the more articles you submit the better the benefit to them. That said you need to write regular useful articles almost on a daily basis and get the published in a variety of places. Ezinearticles is good but there other reputable ones. Article Alley is good, as is articlesbase, then Hubpages and squidoo are valuable aswell. highlandspring |
