Hi,

We are a initial start up software company. We are looking for projects in CMS, JOOMLA, DRUPAL, MOBILE APPS. Could any one suggest how to build a client base. What are the avenues to get Outsourced projects? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Guessing the obvious route is via your website and online marketing? Or am I missing something?

Yes, have your own site. List the projects you have accomplished. Mention any famous brand or company, if any, you have worked with. Make sure your customer support.
Moreover, create the need, you may even contact the companies yourself.

Maybe start building up your portfolio by doing work on Odesk Elance etc, then referrals will come your way, and you have proof of your work to show on your website

Apart from creating a well-designed website and improve site traffic through SEO, you may try offline marketing tools such as direct mail and telemarketing. Think if an in-house or an outsourced services will do.

Thanks,

I guess for you to get more clients you need to show them your work. Why don;t you assemble your work and create a database or a project file and share it over a website. Talk to your friends and families about it. May be you might get something by reference. And word of mouth wins the game.

The most effective way in my experience is to directly approach potential customers. But back it up with a solid website, social media presence and solid client base.

odesk, geekfreelancers, freelancer forum and digital point are good places to get lucrative projects.

Good Luck

As the others mentioned above, it might help if you can create profiles in places like oDesk, Elance, etc. Use keywords that describe your services exactly and start bidding for projects that you would like to work on.

There are a lot of underqualified people bidding for projects but don't be daunted when they undercut your pricing. Don't compromise. The more complex the requirements are, the fewer competitors there will be. Serious business people will also focus on your ability to deliver not just on pricing. Convince theme that you can deliver excellent results. Pay attention to details on your profile and your cover letters.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
