I suppose the only remaining question is where is the best place to buy one - i too am looking for a new sat nav as I think my old one has done is time and is up for retirement... anyone recommend any companies who sell them?

It appears Halfords have a sat nav sale on. Are any of these any good?

Halfords 50% off selected Garmin Sat Nav & Half Price Sendai Sat Nav...

Seriously...

iPhone 4 + TomTom - lifetime updates via the App Store AND you'll be sure to remember it because it's your phone too

My partner has the app on her iphone 3, but when you charge it in the car you lose the sound - damned if we can find the setting to change that!!

It appears Halfords have a sat nav sale on.

Got my new sat nav from my local Halfords - have to be honest although the place is filled with "kids" they do know their stuff.

Id take a wonder in to Halfords and let them help you choose, you can then get a model and make you like and then check out the price on a comparison site like www.kellkoo.co.uk - although if it is 50% off currently i dont think you will get anything cheaper

Yes, I'm still trying to get to grips with my smartphone. I would like an app that tells me where it is warmest and sunniest within a 60 mile radius of my house, and says "This is where you should go on Saturday".
