Hello,
We have recently relaunched our web site and to help bring in more clients to add to our portfolio, we are offering a free web site to some small businesses.
I've already put the text below on a forum to help generate interest but would someone take a look and possibly re-write it to make it more appealing or give me some tips?
I'm aware that I am not very good at marketing and my wording is probably all wrong.
Many thanks
James
[CODE]Hello,
We have recently re-launched our web site and as part of this, we are having a big push to advertise our web site design services.
For a limited time we are offering businesses the chance to have a web site designed for them for free.
We are offering this simply to boost our portfolio of sites.
The only thing that we are asking in return is that you sign up for our 'Bronze' hosting package (
“I've already put the text below on a forum to help generate interest but would someone take a look and possibly re-write it to make it more appealing or give me some tips?” lol 10/10 for cheek I feel abused... asking for some free copywriting so you can use it on another forum! ![]() Looking at your offer, it does smack of the old adage, that you get nothing for nothing... So I can have a free website as long as I tie myself into your hosting, which no doubt will be for 12 months ![]() It's going to be down to the quality of the portfolio. There are so many places now offering free websites, from tacky single page templates and microsites, to half decent wordpress templates. Your portfolio is your shopwindow and a chance to showboat. They don't have to be just customers, maybe throw in a demo site covered in bells and whistles. It needs to be a visual answer for "choose me and stop browsing". Well thats what I reckon ![]()
Hi Steve, Thank you for your reply. I was hesitant in posting my message but also thought that I've received help from people on here before so thought I would try ![]() I am well aware that my style of writing is not very good for sales purposes so I really need some tips. I am really keen for honest opinions and suggestions so please do not hold back! I appreciate your comments about the demo sites and I'll take a look at those over this week to see what I can put together. Thanks for your comments. Regards James wicketts
I have often thought of running a promo competition for one free website and at best that is all I would give. And it would be the full bells and whistles with zero catches and obligations....a true promotional free offer where both parties get what they want out of it but without any catches. The other "free" offers that make me laugh are the SEO companies who say they will choose the ones they want to work with ![]() ![]() Regarding the OP's offer, the hosting isn't sold on a 12 month contract it's just pay monthly and if the offer doesn't state it's 12 months either, then the website owner will be able to pay for just 1 or 2 months hosting then move away with their free website. If they get a website that genuinely is worth a couple or few hundred pounds in any web designer's eyes, then for even 1 years hosting at indizine indizine
wicketts, idea is not clearly visible from this text. as i understand, you offer a free design for everyone who signs up to your 'Bronze' package, so that's all you need so say ![]() keep it simple, keep it clear.
This guide is all you need in regards to online marketing IMO. Thanks, Lion

You're offering free websites to the small businesses? How would you make your money then? By offering pro features? Or would they start paying you after the free trial period? Bliss Felton
“Hi James, There are some questions about your business. You're offering free websites to the small businesses? How would you make your money then? By offering pro features? Or would they start paying you after the free trial period?” i assume it's automatically generated sites via templates of some CMS.
“i assume it's automatically generated sites via templates of some CMS.” Ok, but my question remains the same? How would they make their profit? Bliss Felton |
