You can't beat a bit of controversy, and I love it when someone swims against the tide. Good for you.
I was late to the smart phone revolution, and now have a business iPhone. It's taken a while, but I have come to find it invaluable, mainly as a personal organiser, contacts, and checking emails when out and about. The built in iPod is also great.
But as a physical phone, I think it's terrible, battery life is non existent and I got better reception and voice quality with a 1990's Nokia.
I don't think you can call it a "mobile phone", it's a hand held computer, with phone functionality.
But its a step up from the old days, where you had to carry your Nokia brick attached to your belt and a Palm Pilot in your pocket to synch with your Windows 3.11 and Lotus mail
