So what do you think can make a business fail.? I don't mean like 'not enough sales' or something like that but more on a management level. Some things that come to my mind are:

Improper accounting
No risk analytics in place
Untested business model

I'm guessing you meant business fail...

I reckon most of it is down to lack of planning. The original business plan (if you even had one) may be worthless but it's a good tool and helps you learn. Continual planning, looking at your marketing strategy, learning what works and doesn't work.

Or having enough capital behind you for you to survive and learn from all your early mistakes and failed strategy

Proper Planning Prevents P*** Poor Performance

Guess you could carry this over to business

I think, or at least from my point of view the easiest way for a business to fail, is failing to delegate and getting the right people around you supporting you. I personally got to the stage where I was losing more customers even telling some of them where to go Because I found I was trying to spin too many plates myself and do everything myself. It took quite a while to realise, that I was gradually begining to hate the job, I was losing out on my social life, taking any kind of time out was virtually nil and in the end it became obvious that all I was doing was chasing my own tail. Trying to deal with marketing, the quotes, invoicing, telephones plus the work itself on your own became a complete nightmare for me. So I got half a dozen good people around me and thankfully I got out of this rut before it became too late. What also helped was believe it or not was the recession, I knew too many people whose workload had either slowed down or stopped completely, so rather than trying to plod on like a headless chicken, we joined forces and so far it's worked out Ok...

Thanks,

I believe that improper staff also impacts the business to a very high level and might lead to its failure

I found some reasons for business failure like no proper planning for business, inefficient management, lack of capital, bad location, uncontrolled growth and one of the top most reason in my opinion is poor marketing. So, these are the main reasons which keeps away from success in small business.

And this is why there are business analysts! The problem is that only the big businesses can actually afford them thumbsdown

Why would a start up need an analyst? Analysts study (reliable) data. Start ups won't have any reliable data to provide any stable results. Just saying.

Start-ups needs good advice and more importantly, to have the ability to listen to it and take it on board, even though they may not agree or yet see the point to the advice. Trouble is, many don't and think they know best. They're often the ones that struggle, have a costly start up journey, and often close down.
