Thanks for the info, my site is hosted by yahoo small buisness and I think there isn't a spot to input anchor tags. Do you have any suggestions on how to do this.

I think it would be sensible to look at a real hosting alternative, but it depends on what your aspirations are, ie is this a full time business, evening project, etc. This will then decide on the amoint of effort and any outlay.

Ref the anchor text, you can use this when you are link building.

eg heres one of our links that we use:
The Online Business Directory - My Local Services - Expose your business.

So in this case, the "The online business directory" is the anchor text. You can change it for any phrase or keyword that you are looking for, and as Tomsk says, you can point back to any page in your website, if you were looking to promote something thats not on your home page.

I'm new here but did go type in your url in Google. You've been listed, have your LinkedIn profile done and it seems the only thing now is to get out of the forest of other candle companies online.

Have you linked any of your blog posts (I've looked at that too), to the other places you have a profile? What I didn't see was a coupon for buying candles, which might also give you an in-bound link. Also, have you Tweeted your own store and blog? Good idea to do that maybe twice a month, if you have a sale going on Tweet it.

One last thing that may seem old school but works to get people at least to visit - ping your site's url. just go to google and type in 'feedshark' or 'pingoat'. Once you get to either one it's pretty simple.

Visit some other candle sites for ideas on what they're doing. If one has a blog, post a relevant (not spammy or silly) comment and get a link back to your site.

This is only a short list of what to do to get going. Give it time because even online, it takes time to get anything going.

You should use Social Media Optimization. In Social Media optimization like Social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.. etc have huge number of users on their websites, when you join them and post your links on their relevant posts, they help to increase the traffic of your website. You can post images, description, links.. etc in Social networking websites.
You can use Adwords services of Search engines and Social Networking websites.

I have a few small questions. Optimizing your company name on something like twitter and the odd bits of information, I understand that, but posting links on relevant posts? On facebook I can understand, because you can like and comment people status and photos etc. You would then use the comment to post your link. How would you do that on twitter and LinkedIn though. Also, how would you post an image in twitter so you can optimize it?

There are many ways to get traffic yes, and social media is one that can give you s good boost, but how long would you be able to flit around facebook posting links before someone reports you and FB gives you the boot?

I'm in the same position as you, just started my online business and trying to get visitors, I have found the best way so far is social networking and offering introductory offers.

world-wide-web visitors is the number of details sent and garnered by vacationers to a web site. Since the mid-nineties, cyber web customers has been the largest a part of online targeted traffic. This is determined by the amount of travellers and the amount of websites they stay in. sites watch the inward-bound and outgoing customers to see which portions or internet pages of their website online are usual and if there are any reputed patterns, such as one correct post being observed mostly by game enthusiasts in a certain community. there are a number of ways to watch this targeted traffic and the mobilized information is used to help arrangement internet websites, accent shield inconvenience or indicate a possible loss of bandwidth
