When a page is found in google search, it displays the page name in bolt blue and the page description just below it.

So the description is whatever has been defined in the <meta name="description" content=

In my case, for some reason, it displays a few lines from my content text on the page (not even from the top of the page) but not what is actually defined in the meta description.

How to fix this?

Thanks,

Hi,

This isn't always the case Google doesn't always use the META and now it uses it even less. It find some good text within the homepage and will index this as your text.

The article below from Googles web master tools might be of some help
