HMRC scam 6th March 2017 9:28 AM

Issue flagged on MLS. HMRC scam you need to watch out for. Can't believe some people can be silly enough to fall for something like this

Issue details:
I've received an email apparently from HMRC saying that following a review of my previous years tax payments I am eligible for a tax refund of £265.84.

When I click on the link to process the refund I am prompted to enter private information and bank account details.

I fear this could be an scamp.
Could you please confirm whether the email received is a genuine one & I am actually entitled to the above tax refund.

Thanks & Kind Regards

Police men and woman as we know have a duty to protect the community and prevent crime. Their role is to act as an authoritative figure to all of the UK, however it seems that the expectations of this job role are gradually slacking.

ITV news has reported that many victims have felt let down by police due to the slow response rate. It is said that cases are being put to one side because the Police are failing to carry out basic functions.

It is sad really because a lot of people see the police force as great role models, they protect the community we live in and stop harm; the expectations are not slacking because there is a shortage of detectives either, so what excuse do they really have? Are they slacking because they feel like it? In my opinion you can't be a police officer and be lazy, you have to be on alert 24/7 because crime does not have an opening and closing time.

The HMIC evidenced that:

  • Emergency calls were being downgraded in order to justify a slower response and failings in responding to vulnerable victims
  • Details of 67,000 suspects had not been placed on the police national computer
  • Fewer arrests were being made
  • A large number of crimes were effectively "written off"In too many cases "insufficient action" was being taken
  • Inexperienced officers were left to carry out complex investigations such as rape cases

The above stats are scary really, how many potential convicts are walking the streets still?

Due to the above, the HMIC (criminal justice inspectors) have issued a 'red flag warning' and are enforcing that Police officers complete their job to a high standard like they should be.

Can't believe I almost forgot it was pancake day! Happy Pancake day everyone.

Thought it would be a bit of fun to break your day up to see what everyone likes on their pancakes?

Mine has got to be nutella or golden syrup

What about everyone else?

Well looks like even the TV can make mistakes. Last nights Oscars really did make the most embarrassing mistake. When announcing who won 'Best picture' and in translation that meaning best film there was a total mix up with who had actually won.

The presenters of this award had been given the wrong envelope with the complete wrong category, the envelope they had been given said 'Emma Stone,La La land' moreover that is what the presenter read out causing all sorts of confusion with the audience. The real winner of the award was the film 'Moonlight'. It is said that the mistake was not discovered until half way through the acceptance speeches from the director and actors of 'La La Land' and this was what made it more embarrassing.

Uh oh.

Beatty's Bonnie and Clyde co-star Faye Dunaway announced La La Land had taken the best picture prize - but then the musical's producer Jordan Horowitz announced there had been a mistake.

He said: "This is not a joke. Moonlight is best picture," and showed the camera the card that revealed the winner"

I can't even imagine the embarrassment. Just shows not even huge events such as the Oscars can run perfectly. This crazy mix up is said to go down in Oscar history and will never be forgotten.
