Had boiler and HW cylinders serviced in April 2022 by DJM Plumbing.
Barry performed the work and damaged the HW cylinder casing on both cylinders removing from wall/emptying outside the two hot water expansion vessels to re-pressurise.
New (much better) firm came out today (May 2023) to do annual service and advised there was no need to ever remove the expansion vessels from the wall/take them outside.
A D2 pipe is part of building regulations and is designed to release the water from the vessels safely via a pipe into the garden.
Nowhere in the manufacturers guide on servicing does it advise removing the vessels to empty them.
DJM’s owner seemed more interested in arguing the damage to cylinders would be superficial vs. any desire to discuss compensation/reduced bill.
This lack of knowledge, collateral damage and general poor service/approach mean I cannot recommend DJM – AVOID.
