The story of David Deyong begins from a chance meeting whilst I was on holiday with a dear friend of mine. A few nights before the Millennium New Year's Eve a very handsome man who unbeknown to me had a hidden passion and expertise in jewellery, asked me out. I didn't know at that moment that he would become my husband, my partner in business, and the person to whom I have really understood how to appreciate life.
Setting up David Deyong has not been easy. Our early days were spent testing the demand for our jewellery by working as market traders. It was one of the most challenging times for us - very early starts, freezing cold days and big arguments!! We learnt to have a deep respect for all the people working in the markets. It's a very difficult job with no guarantees that you make your money at the end of the day.
From the markets we took stands inside various shopping centres and soon after opened our first shop in the Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre.
