
As headlines go, it certainly draws you in to what turns out to be a pretty lengthy and complex article, backed up and reinforced with plenty of clear images to confirm the analysis.

I think it's very clever, it takes a subject most of have an opinion about, the current state of the Country, and brings up points you would struggle to argue against. eg the Country is broke, we carry too much debt, the welfare state has crippled us. It then spins it out of control into a forecast of financial and social Armageddon drawing on lots of pretty charts, that will have many readers nodding away and stocking up their survival shelter with baked beans and spam

But in reality, it's all about getting you to subscribe, and use them as advisor's for your hard earned cash.
Whether that's a good thing or not is up to you, read the article and see what you think.
But as a marketing exercise, I like it, and plenty of people are talking about it, so it's obviously working.
