Yup, it's a shame Cameron chucked in the towel after the vote never went his way.... Not sure whether that is a sign of a strong or a weak leader...

What surprises me more is the lack of noise from the Liberal Democrat party....... They seem to have all but vanished, UKIP having done what was needed can dissolve now.... Leaving the other 2 main parties  to take the country forward... I cannot see Labour gaining overall control for years because of their recent history in government... Leaving us with the Conservatives, cannot say I'm in favor of Boris, but he didn't do a bad job as London Mayor, wasn't particularly brilliant either, Theresa May, I find quite scary.... So would like to see some new blood, preferably someone young mid 30s to 40s.....

To be honest, I very rarely watch it.....  Prefer to watch the women's football, probably because they believe they have something to prove...... Not sure what the opposite of a wag is.... But I'd be up for it...

Well if your 'friend' is in the UK, they could leave out buckets as we get lots of free rain here..... In fact we get so much of the stuff it is difficult to understand why we are charged for it....

Have been pondering for a few days since your original post, about the electric usage and why you would need electric, then it finally clicked you must be referring to a jet washer.... Well that's easily solved.... your 'friend' could invest in a 12 volt jet washer and use the customer whose car they are washing own battery to power everything up.....

But knowing that most car washes are cash only, invoice free establishments I don't believe your 'friend' would struggle to pay their utility bills......

Must admit it wasn't Cameron's finest hour calling the referendum, but he did so all credit to him with actually sticking with his general election manifesto. I think many of his counterparts would have kept coming back saying "now was not the time to have a referendum" but he stuck to his word... which is a strange quirk a British politics....  Personally I think he should have stayed as by and large whatever your opinions of him, both he and the chancellor have done Ok, considering the mess they inherited from the last Labour government....

As for Corbyn, can honestly say I've never really heard him debating anything in the public arena, so cannot really comment on him. I know he wasn't very popular when he was elected to lead the party.... Always comes across to me as being rather whimsical a bit Michael Footish..... and going nowhere.....

What we need is a strong, powerful leader who can and will bring the country together and I don't particularly believe they have to come from one camp or the other, I just want someone to put the country first.... If not, we end up as you say becoming a toxic nation and that wont be pleasant for anyone.....

Well I guess if the vote went the other way, social media would have be awash with the leave campaigners complaining that it was unfair and it was a stitch up.... Such is life..... Nigel Farage cannot promise anything as he's not an elected member of parliament although he is an MEP.....

The way I see it now, is for people to accept the result whether they agree or disagree with it and move forward so that we remove ourselves with the least amount of pain. Absolutely nothing is going to change dramatically for at least a couple of years.... The scaremongering of the remain campaigners is still continuing long after the results.... It's time to stop...

Migration will always be a sore arguing point in the UK and always has been with or without Europe.... And racists will be in all communities of whatever race.... Not so sure it is really racism more to do with national identity and there is a major difference..... By and large racism was dealt with and rightly so, during the 70s and 80s .... There's small pockets of it still  and there always will be..

Maybe people should really start to question the UK's MP's who seem to be having an issue in a democratic society with a democratic vote/result.... It's a sad day when they start waving their rattle calling the process unfair..... It is people like these that will unstable the UK's economy / jobs for their own political agenda.... There is absolutely no going back now, so these MP's need to get a grip pronto for the good of the country....

It will be interesting to see how other EU nations react and whether we will see a total collapse of an idea that no one had any control over.....

What really gets me is how badly behaved people are being over this just because it didn't go their way ..LOL even heard on LBC that someone wants London to be part of the EU .I really did chuckle at that”

Yep, totally astounds me the amount of people in the UK who hate the democratic process once the results are in. The referendum was clear from the outset, one person / one vote there was no caveat attached to the referendum saying if you were not happy with the result you could go your own separate way or break up the United Kingdom. It was absolutely clear either in or out for the entire United Kingdom.. If the vote had gone the other way, if those who wished to leave had said they wanted to set up their own little independent states out of the EU, they would have been classed as either racists or little Englander's... I live in the London borough of Barking & Dagenham, after the departure of Ford's the area nosedived with unemployment, slowly it is being regenerated where Ford's once stood which goes on for miles. The borough has a high immigrant population that spans 40 plus years over 60% voted to leave....

I've read that a million people plus, have signed a petition to have another vote..... I've news for these numpties... It is isn't going to happen, if people were complacent in thinking that the remain campaign was a done thing and couldn't be bothered to vote.... too bad, I've even read that some were not quite sure what they voting for and had they known, they would have voted differently.... I can more or less guarantee that if the recent democratic vote is flipped on it's head and we start having another vote until the losers get what they want. There will be civil disobedience, I'm not suggesting for that to happen, but it would happen...

So the remain campaigners, now only have one or two choices. They either knuckle down and unite with the rest of the country and put the Great back into Great Britain.... Or they pack their bags and migrate to Europe the place they love and wish to be part of..... It's a simple choice..

Long term I've no idea whether I've made the right or wrong choice, only time will tell on that. But I'm adamant that I have the absolute right to be governed by those I have elected.... And for me that fundamental right, supersedes everything else.....

And just to prove I'm not totally anti Europe.......I've just bought 3 tickets for tonight's Euro Millions....

Well as I didn't win again..... I guess the moral of the story is... I'd be better of out than in..

As I understand it, until the UK Government implements article 50 of the Lisbon treaty everything is exactly as it was this time last year and absolutely nothing has changed. The process for withdrawal will not begin until a new PM is in place, a new PM will not be in place before the next Conservative party conference in October.... Until then everything remains the same. Even once the process has begun it will take years and years of negotiation before the total withdrawal has been completed..... Most of us will either have retired or will be dead by the end of the process...... By which time some bright spark will have suggested that we would all be better off in Europe and suggest we have another referendum ...
