getting few hits 16th January 2015 10:55 PM

How long has the adwords been running?

If the conversion is good, and your in profit, its all good. But I kinda agree with your feelings, you should be converting more (Getting more sales for your hits). I always feel this way - no matter what, and it's healthy.

If people are clicking on an advert, being directed to your website, whats the bounce rate? (They just click off). If most are leaving straight away - then you MUST address the reasons for it.

Look at your website, ensure it's clear, attractive, and fully explains the key benefits and products you offer (This could even be done with a picture or two).

As discussed before, we have a home made website at the moment too. It isn't ideal, and we're looking to replace it. How does your site compare to what customers are expecting to see? If you did a search for a product, what would you want to see?

If you address this, then the people clicking off your website will be less, and conversion may improve. I feel this may be the issue.

Next, are your adwords keywords and ad content reflecting what your site is saying, and the services you offer?

Refer to video above....

"Flings filing cabinet through window" ;-)

The Head at the time drew a nice little flame on a piece of paper that said - "Im a fire you cannot get out this way" - simple but effective

That is a Great Idea!

Simple but effective as you say!

These things are so important.

I was recently teaching in a brand named international retail outlet (Check me out for not name dropping - and saving us getting sued!). In this multi-national store which yields from somewhere close to the eastern parts of the EU a potential terrorist event occurred whilst I was mid lesson.

The place had a well versed evacuation drill for all the staff, which shows that training pays off.

I must say, as the 200 or so members of staff evacuated, and assembled in the car park - the whole process was really good. Room for improvement, but really good none the less.

We were schooled weekly on the actions on this or that.  It's for the win.

I'm going to nick the heads idea of a fire. Love it!

Oh this tickled me!

There are some Americans who are reasonably naive, and will believe anything.

Quite often I've had an American who discovers I'm of British origin ask me if I know 'John Smith' from London.

Logical really, there's only 10 of us from this little island.

Equally, before our American friends gets upset by my comment - there are Brits who have never left their own towns and think if you go to America, you'll get shot within seconds by a gang member.

How long does it take until you get to a steady state?

It never ever does.

Business is all about peaks and troughs. Christmas time, this business performed really poorly - yet better than our competitors by all means. Feb is filling up quite nicely, and we're taking orders this week which makes Dec seem like it was last year... (I know it was ;-) )

Its mega important to be quick to react. If something isn't working, you pull the plug on it. You always try something new, and never ever give up on marketing

The most important thing to get noticed for are USP's (Unique Selling Points).
Then presentation.
Then finish it off with awesome Service.

If you can go straight to the client, even better. So, depending on your type of soliciting, making friends, and giving incentives to estate agents etc is good. This is networking, and sharing business. I swear by it, and when someone else promotes my business, I get a little buzz from it - because they obviously like me - and that makes me feel good.

Thank you ,you have managed to improve my day ... Don't you just hate it when that happens .. But on the bright side at least it is only bird poop you will need to clean rather than a trashed store.Seriously hope everything is OK when you get back there ”

Ah, Ill either cook it, or keep it as a pet tomorrow.

The thing has probably just strolled in through the front door on Friday and hidden somewhere.

He's got his head down for now after feeding on the contents of someones leftover lunch. Awww... he's so sweet! I'm gonna call him Bert and put him on the payroll!

Just had the Alarm company call to tell me there's several PIR's that have detected movement in my premises, and it's sounded the alarm.

The lady on the phone was panicking.

She's alerted the Police who are on route in force. Apparently there may be more than one person in there due to the speed of which differing sensors are picking up movement.

In my Garfield boxer shorts, and sideshow bob hairstyle, I raced for my laptop to log into the CCTV system remotely (Which also allows me to speak over the cameras PA system - meaning I can hurl abuse at these crims).

Damn microsoft is slower when you need it to be fast, but, when I get in, and online, I wait for the connection, and the grainy night vision cameras start showing me screen by screen my pride and joy.

Scrutinising each screen, expecting to see men with balaclavas, holding bags of swag, and sawn off shotguns, what do I actually see?

A pigeon going mental, homing in on the only light source in the place. A tiny red LED emitting from each alarm PIR.

I think Ill go back to bed.

Most interesting.

Getting to Page 1 for your keywords has to be.... well.... key.

In checking out my local competition, I am amazed that even some companies that are several years old (as is their domain) is sitting on page 7+ for really simple, and important keywords.

Digging around, it's no wonder. Google can barely find them for the keywords! (One, if you enter in just the town name, they rank really highly - so, if you're thinking of coming to the town, you'll find his site. If you're thinking of getting his product in the town, he's on Page 2)

I don't want them to be at number 1 for locality... I'm happy with them staying where they are!

As we continually strive to get to number 1 in more than locality in the search string, I am most interested. Content is king, and we try and keep it fresh as a daisy.

I look forwards to seeing your results. ;-)

My school had fire drills... and actions on:
1) Nuclear attack
2) Bomb blast
3) Air - raid warning

The joys of being schooled in Germany during the Cold War.

I miss it so much... There was so much certainty, and we just lived with it!

But being prepared, and thinking out the box is so important Clive. Block those exits (In the scenario). Prepare people for the worst!

It's up there with the evil of those who call new businesses proporting to be from the Electric / Gas companies, to 'Switch' you on to their supply. They realise you've just moved in, you're just sorting out the Electric from the landlord, you've got a new number, so they call, and fake you into believing they are from the current supplier calling to change details.

10 mins later, your in a contract with a supplier via some scroat you've never heard of.
