Criminal Negligence - or not 16th February 2015 4:03 PM

I'm not sure about criminal negligence but to prove other types of negligence you have to show they failed in their "duty of care" (I'm not a solicitor, I just work for one so this is my take on things!)

There's a process you have to follow to make a claim, I guess it would be the same or very similar. The first stage is the Preliminary notice, which is where you basically write to them and state your argument and that you are preparing to make a claim, they have 21 days to respond.

I can PM you a few links to articles on our website that may help? Or most solicitors give a 30 minute consultation free of charge so it may be worth calling a legal expert?

Black Cabs in Uber protests 5th February 2015 4:42 PM

Having used Uber on a recent holiday it comes highly recommended. You know the fare pretty much before you get in the cab. Not like the black cab that tried to rip me off on the way from the airport.

The app itself is a dream to use, you can see where your cab is, how long it will take to get to you and the route taken so you know you've not been ripped off.

The power of word of mouth marketing will certainly be a big plus for Uber, not only have I now told you but anyone that will listen!

Disavowing links 2nd December 2014 2:55 PM

a bit of digging and I've answered my own question!

For anyone that wants to know, the general consensus is that you should remove parked domains.

Disavowing links 2nd December 2014 11:16 AM

Hi all,

I am currently going through a meaty file of all our links, some are x rated so need to be removed! Others are ranking as highly toxic and are on parked domains (all parked by the same people) do you think I should disavow those?

For example, these property related domains appear all the time, I can't actually see our link on there: http://propertyknightsbridge.com/

It probably does look spammy for Google, however if someone buys the domain it may be a useful link again.

Any opinions gratefully received.

Have Tescos got it right? 26th November 2014 5:40 PM

The world has gone mad!

If any of the girls wanted a superhero in my family we'd happily go and get it from the "blue" section without being offended in the slightest.

I'm with you, the PC brigade seem to ruin things for the majority who have better things to do with their time than be continually offended

Hi Claire,

I'd have a look on peopleperhour.com, there are lots of WordPress developers on there who can assist. You only release payment when you're happy with the work.

You'll need a good clear brief and I would ask for sample sites and client testimonials.

Personally, I think there are quite a few factors involved, if you have a great infographic which is shared across social media and added to other people's blogs or the holy grail 'Huffington Post' you're on to a real winner. The flipside, an infographic with no interest I don't think adds any value to a website at all.

It's about being able to pitch the content of the infographic to ensure it is interesting to the target audience.

I've seen some infographics really take off and get some really high authority link backs for SEO, especially if they are combined with a press release. I've also seen plenty fall flat and end up as just another image on the internet.
