Its still weird though. Like the movies where you watch jason bourne running for his life or salt even. It all just sounds too strange to be a reality.

John McAffee - Innocent? or created Scandal? 15th November 2012 10:02 AM Or why he didn't move out after the first time he suspected that he was being 'strongarmed" into funding politicians? It doesn't really make sense? Pus, why has he not gone back to his home country and asked them for some sort of asylum? I mean surely embassies can help in some way, can't they? John McAffee - Innocent? or created Scandal? 15th November 2012 6:53 AM I heard about this on our news stations a few days ago (Tuesday Morning), and was looking online to see what else I can find. The authorities are looking for him so that they can talk to him about the murder of his neighbour. They have already arrested his bodyguard and the bodyguard's wife and after a search found illegal weapons. The other side of the story though, is that John claims its all because he wouldn't support certain diplomats or bend to the unusual living conditions in Belize. This post was from the new york times about 6 hours ago, and more or less reflects everything said in other newspapers, except one or two things, that A. Mcaffee is talking to Joshua Davis, who is tweeting all the extra info on twitter, and that the neighbour had apparently called the police to complain about Mcaffee's dogs. The police say he's not suspected of murder, they would just like to talk to him, he thinks they will kill him the minute they get him.... How does this work? 14th November 2012 7:32 AM Brilliant lol. I know its done in flash, but that's about all I know. How to decrease your PageRank - easy - sell links! 14th November 2012 7:30 AM There is a lot of talk at the moment about using non keyword targeted anchor text in links. Using words like Click here, etc. instead of a full on keyworded anchor text. One of the forums I am on has a list of these "keywords" that is used regularly on their sites. I should see if I can find them for you Buying links (IMHO) is not a bad thing, if you do it the right way and its kept niche specific and follows Google's own guidelines. Plus, if its an authority site, or a big brands site that is unlikely to change, its all the better. Its still a link pointing back, even if its nofollow. Its diverse and natural looking. Where can I get that? - Have marketers lost that edge? 13th November 2012 6:52 AM It is, but, lol, I know its probably the worst example, but there is a song on youtube at the moment that has become viral in a matter of weeks. They used video sites to promote a product, and even those that didn't buy his album have posted the vid literally all over the web. With that one vid (and the few parodies that came with it), its rocketed this artist into superstardom, and they've been on all manner of celebrity shows etc. And it all started with one person. It may have cost money to shoot the music video, and they may have been known in Korea, but they are now one of the most liked videos on youtube (and they hold a guiness record for that as well), and I can imagine what that's done for their sales. All that from one person sharing something good that they found. Where can I get that? - Have marketers lost that edge? 12th November 2012 6:22 AM I was talking to my eldest yesterday morning about a T-shirt her teacher was wearing. It was a picture of Yoda, but a mug shot. My first question was "where did she buy it?". She told me that she didn't ask her (as she felt it was the wrong thing to ask a teacher lol). But it had me thinking about it. I frequent a Chinese Mall here a lot and most times I am buying either food or other cool gadgets I can find, and when friends visit, they see (or eat) what I bought there and they ask me where I got it, and I would tell them. So it had me thinking, have marketers lost sight of that one element of marketing? Getting a product out there to generate curiosity to then drive conversions either online or off? I feel that any product can be marketed that way, but when I look at a web page, its all cold hard sell, or testimonials have been altered (or faked). It made me wonder how marketers get the word out there, using their existing clients and not just social bookmarking or article directories, RSS feeds or any other of the generic answers we hear people give when asked about traffic and conversions. How many marketers actually use their clients to bring in new clients? I have always been a firm believer in business reputations, web reputation and I feel that using a client to help you advertise not only gets you more conversions, but its a boost for your business reputation because people recommend you to others. |
