I heard about this on our news stations a few days ago (Tuesday Morning), and was looking online to see what else I can find.

The authorities are looking for him so that they can talk to him about the murder of his neighbour. They have already arrested his bodyguard and the bodyguard's wife and after a search found illegal weapons.

The other side of the story though, is that John claims its all because he wouldn't support certain diplomats or bend to the unusual living conditions in Belize.

This post was from the new york times about 6 hours ago, and more or less reflects everything said in other newspapers, except one or two things, that A. Mcaffee is talking to Joshua Davis, who is tweeting all the extra info on twitter, and that the neighbour had apparently called the police to complain about Mcaffee's dogs.

The police say he's not suspected of murder, they would just like to talk to him, he thinks they will kill him the minute they get him....

Blimey! First I've heard of this. So it really is the AV Mcafee founder!

He has put his case forward via wired.com

Interesting reading, but it begs the question, with all the historical corruption and deteriorating security situation in Belize, why did he go and live there?

Or why he didn't move out after the first time he suspected that he was being 'strongarmed" into funding politicians? It doesn't really make sense? Pus, why has he not gone back to his home country and asked them for some sort of asylum? I mean surely embassies can help in some way, can't they?

First ive heard about any of this.

All seems very bizzare and a lot of other things seemed to have gone on in the background that led him to be living in Belize in the first place!

Very sad as it seems drugs have claimed a once genius man.

I was watching the beeb news last night, and there wasn't any mention of this story, which is odd. You'd think something like this would be newsworthy?

I see it to the BBC Latin America website..

I did see this in the paper - well actually << << Rewind that - I read Murder suspect, McAfee founder, Meth, and saw before and after style pictures of the suspect Before Meth when he was launching McAfee and then wow.... I mean now

Very sad.

Its still weird though. Like the movies where you watch jason bourne running for his life or salt even. It all just sounds too strange to be a reality.

Part of the make up of a 'user' is a constant awareness that the default setting is a constant search for the next ----- (hit, score, fix) so most users either stay completely dependent to a supplier or they become part dealer themselves.

Now but a multimillionaire into that situation >> >> Statistically if he uses meth he probably has tried pcp (Angel dust) which led to meth. PCP gives a real illusion of invincibility..

..and really from there any film like 'Limitless' with Robert de Niro and Bradley Cooper, Salt, Bourne becomes an abstract possibility (but only in the mind of the user) quite often its not as slick as a movie the reality will be much more gruesome and painful (as we may or may not find out).

Theres is also the police saying they only want to question him. He's been having someone tweeting about raids they're doing on houses (apparently near him, and how he just missed them). Ironically, only one person, from a newspaper? Surely, if that were the case, the papers would coroborate the story? Unless that is also a lie?

Lets just hope he diesn't remember McGyver then? Or become like Max Payne. Can these drugs seriously augment reality that to him it would seem like they are out to get him?

Usually the 'path' is a slippery slope that goes from something as innocent as a smoke and can end up literally anywhere but in going from through the path lots of untested hallucinogens can rip and tear the minds pathways causing psychotic tendencies and behaviors -

Once the vail is torn the damage is done.

This is how you can read a story in ever country in the world where someone tried a seemingly harmless drug for the first time and ended up in a body bag.

The definition of Russian Roulette.
