Beats me. Haha. I think they do that because kids get bored/overwhelmed in school way too often and maybe a time off could help that, that's why they are giving these kids too many days off in a year. I've seen some schools give out just 1- 1.5 months a year off for their students.
Haha, I understand your situation. It's kind of hard to work and all with the kids in the house and having to worry what crazy thing they are going to do next. It's quite stressful and exhausting.
Just give them some cash and let them spend the day in the mall.

I kind of hate online stuff. Just last month, I got cheated by an online fax service, they start you off with a free trial(while requiring a credit card to activate the account) then once it expires, it automatically converts your account to a paid service without any notice of some sort. And I've only used the account once. Glad that I saw it early enough to cancel the service.
Honestly, in my opinion as long as it's not hurting anyone and it's not causing any major nuisance in the part of the community, I don't think it matters. They should focus more of their attention to important issues, issues that actually matter.
