I had a company called tucan claims offer me the best deal around to check that i had not been misrepresented on any money borrowed. I signed on the dotted line and had a bit of paper to say a full refund if nothing was owing. Now i am threatening them with court action as they refuse to stand by their agreement, i am pursuing them under section 75 of the consumer credit act any advice, i did pay by credit card not debit card

Thanks,

Is this one of these multitude of daytime TV "have you been miss-sold PPI"

Will confess to not quite understanding what all the fuss is about with PPI, but I remember always saying no to PPI when I took a loan out, mainly because it saved about

we thought that we had all under control and understood what we were paying for, and so we were ok as far as we thought, however several years after signing and after many phone calls from companies that say they have documents that give our details etc etc etc we started to doubt whether we had it right. these companies can be fairly persuasive.

However lesson learnt is that if you have a doubt dont listen to these companies. go by what you think you know

Reclaim PPI for Free:

Tucan Claims will not speak to us at all, they do not reply to emails and just send out the same letter saying they can do nothing.
We threatened them with section 75 of the cca 1974 and they still refused us a repayment.
And they told us to take it up with the bank.
We did just this and took it to our bank which is the HSBC they sorted it out, denied all knowledge of the transaction but because we paid by credit card the bank reimbursed us with the out of pocket expenses.
So all worked out fine except where Tucan Claims are concerned. As far as i am concerned i would not advise anyone to use them, they take your money and refuse to pay it back.

Sounds like you are going to get everything resolved. Sorry to hear that it is going to take so much time and effort on your part to get your money back.

Wow, good luck with your case.

I kind of hate online stuff. Just last month, I got cheated by an online fax service, they start you off with a free trial(while requiring a credit card to activate the account) then once it expires, it automatically converts your account to a paid service without any notice of some sort. And I've only used the account once. Glad that I saw it early enough to cancel the service.

Yep from here on in anything i do over the internet or on line at all is paid by credit card, at least i have some come back.
A friend of mine had a company charge him for 6 months of advertising, paid upfront, he only got a few jobs from it and so he never renewed it as far as he was concerned.
They too took his money cos they said he never cancelled 1 month upfront and in writing, as they said he never read the small print. He could get nowt back as it was paid by debit card. needless to say he cancelled straight away.
