The Forum SEO Challenge... 10th March 2011 8:14 AM
I have to say that you were on to a loser from the start with this one, the single most important factor in SEO is the domain name, it pays to choose a domain with SEO in mind. The website you were trying to get to #1 is missing 'uk' and 'business' in the url. To compound the issue, there is already a site at number one that has all of you chosen keywords in it's domain name.

So, keep trying but you'll have a tough job.

I have a work-a-round solution, which I don't think I'll share with you - but I'll have a tinker and if I am number one for the keyphrase "UK business forum" then you can buy me a drink.

I think to some respects your correct but not in all I know allot of websites which rank #1 for their keyword who don

I work for the Public Sector - it is very rarely they put that sort of clause into their contracts. However, to be on the safe side, I checked my contract, T&C's, spoke to solicitors etc and I am fine in respect of going into the same sort of business I do now for my current employer and I can quite easily approach their current clients / customers without any legal problems.

I would be very careful although you could be right you might be able to do it, Stealing someones client base isn't something you want your business to be known by I would go careful look into it and make a list of things you will need to be able to get your idea going!

PM me if you would like some more help

I belive sometimes your contract will say you cannot go into business in that indsutry within 12 months of leaving.

So unless you would be willing to pass your ideas on and work with your current company I don't think it would be viable I could be very wrong though.

For all those people that have been asking about getting indexed within Google within 24 hours I am doing a little project,

The below will highlight the website and the stats so people know if they could possibly do the same
  • Website Age
Google page rank is depends on the back links and traffic and website content of a website, Google is giving much more importance for this PR.

Sorry I don't agree, Google will never be able to pay huge attention to this rank becuase people simply dont use this tool. Thier has never been any update on the web about this form of SEO like thier has others.
