How hard is it to start a forum??? 1st June 2012 11:31 AM
Steve is right in saying that the easy part is setting up the forum. The hard part is to get people in the gift industry/interested in the gift industry knowing about the forum.
Have you thought about setting up a simple, optimised website with an auto-responder (Aweber)? On the website front page you will have good and original content about the gift industry and where you fit into it.
The auto-responder will capture people's email addresses (opt in). To get them to give you this information offer something free that will be of interest and benefit to them. They will have confidence in you. You will then be able to send emails to them inviting them to the forum and also be in a position to 'sell' to them.
This can be a traditional website or a blogging platform (Wordpress - wordpress.org).
