Energy-saving tips 29th June 2016 2:50 PM

Maybe in the customer waiting room, have exercise bikes wired up to dynamos, and market it as a free gym?

Best laugh this morning, Jeremy Hunt throwing his hat in the ring. At least he's got a thick skin and is used to everyone hating him, so could be a good candidate

Whatever your political persuasion, you can't deny things aren't a little bit interesting at the moment

The normal dull boring drudgery of UK politics has been replaced with an hour by hour, day by day soap opera.

Political comrades at war with each other, parties on all sides falling apart at the scenes, Scottish Nationalism rising again, and somewhere in the middle, Farage making a total arse of himself and trying to speak for us all.

Watched Prime Ministers Questions today to watch the pantomime unfold in real time. Booing, heckling, the speaker having to repeatedly intervene to let people speak, but done in his own humorous way.  Then the icing on the cake, not even UKIPs MP getting shouted at, but Cameron looking at Corbyn and saying

"It might be in my party's interest for him to sit there, it's not in the national interest and I would say, for heaven's sake man, go,"

Not very often you have a serving Prime Minister telling the leader of the opposition to quit

So in, out, shake it all about, whatever happens in the weeks and months, I suspect this Westminster reality show has a few more interesting and comedy moments before it goes back to the hum drum of boring politics

Lets hope the country doesn't fall apart before normality is restored.

Well gone one better this year! I am officially Managing Director of the year, woohoo get me

But I've nothing to wear and no speech prepared...

Now wheres the company credit card... or maybe Andy could rustle me up a cheaper trophy

A prophecy?

I bet they'll cancel the show with the new line up real quick.”

Certainly seems to be trouble for the new Top Gear line up. The press are saying Matt LeBlanc has threatened to quit unless Chris Evans is sacked. At least according to a mystery inside source

Although never a huge fan, I could dip in or out and thought it was pretty good under Clarkson and crew, but the format was getting a bit predictable, and you can only blow up so many caravans.

So I was interested to see what Evans did with the format, and watched the first show. What a disappointment! Same old tired structure, pointless drive to blackpool in a 3 wheeler's, we've seen Clarkson messing about and rolling over in 3 wheelers.

Other than adding a part rally track to the star in the family car, and having different presenters, it was the same. Evans even said "we got custody of the stig". I concede it was only the first program, but the presenters didn't gel and it was like watching a cheap remake.

I think a huge opportunity to reinvent the format has been squandered, and I think MarketingQuotes could be right!

Once again the performance of our national football team underwhelms our expectations, and another manager falls on his sword.

So with the cream of England's footballing talent, plucked from a population of 53 million, we were trounced by Iceland, who have a population of 330,000  Credit where credit is due, well done Iceland

Maybe footballers should be paid less, or just make it performance related?

New Petition - Stuart Pearce penalty 27th June 2016 11:49 AM

Saw this on a friends facebook timeline, although the official page has been taken down.

We may be divided, but we can still take the mickey out of each other

For better or worse, we just need stability, with clear concise political and economic direction.

Negativity now will be toxic for the country, and although there are some big wounds to heal, they will heal with the right people in the job. Just a question of finding them! Is it Boris and Corbyn?

Although never a real fan, I thought the Osbourne speech this morning was good and positive.

His message was I don't agree with the decision, but the people have spoken so I abide by it and we will make it work. Plus we have been working behind the scenes in case of this outcome and ensure its business as usual, and the world can relax.

I've no doubt he will throw his hat into the leadership race in the next few days, and looking at the alternatives, my money will be on him.

Absolutely fascinating watching the Labour party implode over the weekend, and with an obvious General Election looming after the new Tory leader calls one, I can't see Corbyn emerging as the captain of the ship. Although that will then set the party at odds between elected members and party members, which is quite surreal. It could set them back a decade, leaving no credible opposition party, which is worrying.

In hindsight, although I blame Cameron for holding the referendum in the first place, I think he shouldn't have quit. We voted him in to lead us, rather than falter because a decision didn't go his way. Having 3 months of in-house political warfare before we can start moving forward again isn't the best recipe for stability. So regardless of the flak he has had in the past, I'm glad Osbourne is staying to give the country some short term continuity.

I was going to say he can act as an anchor for the economy, but I didn't want that mis-read

Had 4 emails today from suppliers reassuring me there is nothing to worry about and they will continue to be providing services!

Here was the last one from our hosting provider:

Dear Customer,

With the recent decision made for the U.K to leave the E.U. we would like to re-assure you that we expect no impact in our ability to continue providing services to you.

Rackspace always has and will continue to comply with applicable laws in the provision of its services to its customers. At this time, we continue to run “business as usual” at Rackspace and if anything changes to the above, we will let Customers know in a timely manner.

Suggesting that in the future they may not

They have even put up an FAQ to answer customer questions..

Thank you Mr Trump 24th June 2016 12:16 PM

We are very lucky, we have Donalds blessing, although more fun reading the replies

My kids end up in fits of giggles if you mention his name, which took a while for the penny to drop..
