Hi Clive,

Strangely enough, i think you did, you just reinforced what i was already thinking.
Badly advised in the first plcae, under insured and not enough security.
(new businesses take note).
Just means a severe beating for Marc and headache for me .
Harsh lessons learnt, but they say what hurts us makes us stronger

Nice talking to you.

Many thanks to Steve and Clive for help and advice following our break-in.

Another hard lesson learnt in the world of running a small business it seems.

Onwards and upwards

Your joking?? You have set up a website, within a few weeks you have decent keywords on Page 1 of Google, and you have set up a business.

We all have different skills and advice to offer, we've all had different issues, and had to overcome different problems to acheive our aims.

Dont run yourself down, you have an amazing range of advice many new startups would be eager to hear about, who are themselves starting from scratch.

I think you have extremely high expectations of yourself, and you are throwing yourself head first into a world of SEO, which you only have a minimal grasp of technically.

You have had some great advice, and no doubt you will get plenty more, but do you really want to spend your energy learning the art of SEO from the ground up via a forum? If you really have the time to spend to learn it inside out, maybe Tomsk could recomend some books or SEO resources?

i agree with steve, you do have a lot to offer in your own way, but i do know where you're coming from.
i have had a lot of help and advice from the guys on here and i think its brilliant, as a carpet and upholstery cleaner, i dont think i have much to offer in return, but as steve says we have all come along way in regard to launching and running a business, and a lot of new starters could benefit from what we have learnt.
stick to what you know and leave the bits you dont know to people that do.

Advertising Cons - be aware 11th March 2010 10:08 PM
we get calls from these kind all the time, promise of getting our business on front page google blah blah blah.
well thanks for that but we are already on front page google, no cost involved just a lot of personal headaches but we got there .
question we always ask is 'Where did you get our number from?'
yep the very same place that our customers get it from!
'If you found us... so will our potential customers'
thanks but no thanks
personally for peace of mind i find owning equipment far better.
we saved and saved before launching the business to be able to by the essentials needed to start trading and replace and upgrade and expand as we go along.
no worrying about paying lease bills every month helps me sleep at night when business is quiet.
