Financial Conduct Authority 8th May 2014 1:29 AM

Ok, long story short, I am regularly asked if I provide a particular service at least 3 or 4 times a day. At the moment I don't, but I could and it would / could be very lucrative. From research and customer feedback nobody provides this particular service. I don't really want to mention the service, simply because it will end up on page one of Google which is not where I want it to be. Anyway over the last couple of weeks, I've had all the information on this particular service typed up and its is just about ready be uploaded to the site etc.

Then the person who does all my writing stuff mentioned that other service providers who offer a similar but completely different product / service are registered with the Financial Conduct Authority so I visit the site and I was a bit shocked to see that if you take deposits you either have to be registered or authorised by the FCA. I would say that the majority of businesses in the UK that take deposits are not registered, I take deposits and I'm not registered too risky not to. Anyway are we all trading illegally or am I reading this wrong?

Bank Holiday season again... 6th May 2014 2:58 PM

I'm worried as to whether I joined the right forum here, 2 administrators, ones a miserable old git, with the other being lined up as the next state executioner!

Have we now done away with being able to send PM's to other forum members? Not a big deal if we have, I was just trying to work out how but drew a blank....

Hmv on the high street 4th May 2014 11:22 PM

The last record shop I went into was called 'Our Price' which has now long gone probably nearly 15 years it has been gone. The problem with the record shop industry is that it was attacked from both the high street and technology. Why would any sane person now visit the high street to contribute to the local economy only to find a £40 parking ticket on their vehicle because they were 2 minutes late? So people end up down loading music online, have to say the first record I bought was by Slade in 1972

Our Price is now the trading title of a price comparison website..

Due to the amount of police corruption in this country, which is becoming more and more apparent on a daily basis nowadays. I think the death penalty should be left well alone. There use to be a very good investigative television show, cannot remember what it was called, fronted by a David or Derek Jessel I think. Many times this show proved that the police had either got it completely wrong or had just blatantly stitched somebody up. Most of the people who had been featured on this show would have been executed had the death penalty still been used at the time........

Also I think you can only be in favour of the death penalty, if you are willing to carry out the punishment yourself, why expect others to carry out your wishes?  Which kind of makes it even more confusing for me, because if your in favour of the death penalty you must also have the killer instinct yourself. So as an executioner on behalf of the state, you'd end up killing more people than what your customers had....

Have worked for an estate agent in Chelsea for the last 4 / 5 years the most expensive property for sale on their books is for £22,000,000 and the cheapest for £199,000 (which is just a room) on the rental side the most expensive property to rent is for £25,000 per week and the cheapest being £350.00 per week. Speaking to the sales manager on Friday I asked if they were selling many properties, he seems to think it is rather slow, but out in the suburbs it wasn't to bad. Then asked him about his thoughts on a bubble burst and he seems to think that no more than a slight price correction will take place, but nothing very drastic. He's spent over 40 years working in the same office and is pretty level headed and knows what he is talking about.

I would say that the majority of the rental properties are owned by registered businesses and corporates rather than individuals and your usual buy to let landlord, it's a different world in Central London with many buyers willing to pay over the asking price if there others willing to pay the same price. I think Central London prices will forever rise, as it is not your normal run of the mill people living there or buying. From what I can see, properties are mainly being bought from either Russians, Chinese, Arabs or the French....... The Mr & Mrs Jones are nowhere to be seen
