Save local shops and businesses 29th November 2012 3:52 PM
I'm as guilty as the rest. Also, with my speedy life, I find I'm buying more and more online, which is even worse.

Note to self - New Year's Resolution-support small independent shops.

The end of two-for-one's? 29th November 2012 11:55 AM
Is this really targeting the right people? Alcoholics will still get their fix whatever the price, while the rest of us will suffer this heavy price increase on units of booze. thumbsdown

And now for the good news! 29th November 2012 11:49 AM
The last 2 emails that have just landed in our inbox have the following subject lines:

"How Britain could collapse from within" (Apparently a new article published by Money Week, that I haven't yet dared to look at)

followed by:

"Britain faces coldest winter for 100 years" Are you prepared?" (from Seton promoting their De-Icing Salt)

Does anyone have any good news, or is it all "doom and gloom" (which, by the way, is a great new track from the Stones)?

It seems that the local shops are suffering in the beautiful little town of Whitstable. They have decided to display these posters to encourage the residents to support their local businesses.

I hope this works for them, and maybe other places should try the same tactic.
