Dont you just hate bad workmanship 11th July 2011 5:23 PM
i am glad that those that i train are told in the first instance that if they dont want to do the work in the order and manner i teach them, then dont do the work at all.
i do my work right so that i dont get any come backs, i even found out that the so called plumber that was busy telling us what he can do was a shelf filler in Wickes until a couple of years ago.
And as for the builder that fitted our french doors, we have had the company out that gave him the job in the first place, to get the doors to close properly, only for them to find out that he had fitted them incorrectly

all i hope is that the valuations that we are having over the next few days on our rented property are upto our expectations, then i hope we can sell that and our 4x4 and go back to some sort of normality.

only another 10 weeks or so and we wont have many wasps to treat
Auto electrician required 10th July 2011 9:38 PM
any one know of an auto electrician that could either replace or remove an immobiliser in a 4x4 must be local to us and not require us to take out a second mortgage to pay for it

We have had some major work carried out at our place, and as i am busy with the wasp season upon us we thought that we would get some tradesmen in to carry out the work, first was a recommended plumber, he wasted more time than was imaginable, lucky he was on a price. then after he had finished we had to alter some of his work because he had not done it right in the first place, so he has been told in no uncertain terms to stay away from both of our properties and we will find someone else.
Then we had a general builder guy put onto us to fit some french doors, he again was on a fixed price, but during the day he spent most of his time on the phone then taking his dog for a walk then he came back to the job, he was here three days doing a one day job. Then he decided to carry out some work for us and we had to undo that because he built the door reveals, but did not fix any damp proof membrane in between the inner and outer skin, and he also bridged the cavity gap with plaster.
Needless to say he too gets no more work from us or through us.
this is just when i have the busiest period of our year workwise, and to top it all the tenant in our rented property decided to hand in his notice and so we had to get that property ready to rent or sell.
Fun times are had by all at the moment.

i agree, the feel good factor is out of this world

I agree and I disagree.
at least you will have peace of mind knowing you could teach someone about the way you work and how things are done, and they learnt enough from you to make a success of themselves.

i find this a very rewarding part of life, knowing i can train people

Since i last posted on this thread i have opened two new offices and have trained both offices to my way of work, However the operators of the offices are carrying out their own work as well, and so if we can all make a bit why not help others
Network 3 12th April 2011 7:51 AM
Has any of you out there had problems with network 3 dropping calls halfway through conversations. i have just gone to them and that is what i have found is happening, and so have a few of my colleagues around the country, it does not appear to be a good firm to be dealing with.
Would you 3rd April 2011 10:58 AM
because of our niche market i would only help if they were far enough away so they do not have any affect on our income
to all those mums 3rd April 2011 9:38 AM
Dont work today make all others do it for you, put your feet up and let the business run itself or just chill out. Enjoy your well earned day off. no doubt they will ask for but just and let them get on with it.
