Hi All
Excuse me for asking but i am not too sure on this one,
I have two grandaughters that have a habit of printing for the sake of printing, mum is on a limited budget and needs ink for uni work. if we set up the administrator account with password that would be for mum, can we set up an account for each grandaughter and take out programmes such as printers from their individual account, then they could save on a memory stick, mum can check what they wish to print and print it for them.
also if we have programmes on the computer that we dont want them to delete or use do we just log onto each account and delete those programmes, if so will they still be in the administrators account.
i hope this makes sense but i have never needed to do this before and i dont wish to wipe out a programme if it can be avoided
we are using XP

any ideas how to open a powerpoint file i believe circa 95 on my office 2007
Thanks for your reply, it has now been sorted, we have signed up, but we will look up your uni and see what follows later
thanks to all, a lot of trawling and discussions took place yesterday and a course etc has now been found, thanks for your help
I've done a conventional degree at a good university, another degree at the OU and have looked at various non-degree distance learning courses.

Like mrb, I feel the obvious starting point is the Open University. It's probably the most credible and flexible distance learning degree provider available, it's a lovely, helpful organisation to deal with, its course materials are superb and the summer schools and seminars are great fun and extremely accessible.

Best wishes, Linda

Thank you for your reply, i briefly looked at them yesterday, and you have confirmed that this is a good starting point.
today is the start of a few in depth conversations with them.
Thanks to you both for replying so quickly
I may have missed the point but have you tried the Open University itself?

Thanks but no we have not tried anything yet, as we are just looking for names NOT to go to, we are starting to look today
Does anyone know of a good open university that will let us learn online, my daughter wishes to get a degree and is looking to do it from home in her spare time, we do not want to get involved in any universities with a bad name.
Any help in a direction would be gratefully receieved.
