My friend is starting a business where (over simplified) he will be selling coffee to individuals in busy city locations. What license(s) would he need and how would he go about acquiring these?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Tom,

Assuming that they're not operating from a fixed business premises, your friend would require a street trading licence. The legal and technical specifics of such licences vary between the city councils that issue them so I'd suggest putting the target post code into the link below to see what is required of your friend to legally be allowed to sell coffee to the public.
Another licence he would most likely have to have would be a Class A3 Licence which covers the sale of food or drink for consumption (including hot food for consumption off the premises as well).

I hope that this has been helpful.
