So apparently Germany is out of recession, the UK is technically coming out of recession if the latest reports are to believed, so whats the view for the States?
According to USA Today, a survey released on wednesday, the Federal Reserve announced the economy is in healing mode and "cautiously positive" about the economic outlook.
So is this view echoed by American business, or is just another recession headline?
I have a buddy who manages the corporate side of some very large Casino/Hotels in Vegas, and he is already turning bookings away for 2010, and had a very difficult job filling spaces in 2009, so if Vegas is spending again, that has to be a huge indication
yes, things are gradually getting better. The first quarter saw many lay offs taking place every hour that has certainly come down. The economy is surely picking up and hopefully will recover the losses it suffered in the last two years.
Hey there Spartan, don't think I welcomed you on the way in, good to see a positive post, welcome aboard buddy!
Hi Spartan, Welcome to the USABF Great to hear some optimism. Just had a look at the LEDC site, guess it must have been a rough time for a development agency. Have you managed to weather the storm and keep projects on schedule during the downturn, or has it led to things going on hold? I know in our area, there have been numerous building projects that have been put on hold or even abandoned. Hope to hear more about yourself and the LEDC.
Yeah, would love to know how you have got on too, I have seen an awful lot of start ups, including myself, but I do think start ups have not been spending as much on outsourcing, and trying a lot of what they should be outsourcing themselves. I know there are a couple of things I would pay for immediately if the funds were there.
Yes
Excellent news for all, even a .5% is in the right direction, as it concerns literally thousands, dare I say hundreds of thousands, so even a tiny % in the right direction means more food and luxuries for families and in turn more spending to bring others out of the black cloud.
“Recession gripping the United States for nearly two years is seems to be over now.” Although things do seem to be slowly picking up, I wouldn't go as far and say the recession is over. I think we still have quite a way to go, maybe the end of 2010, and then sometime more before the economy is in the same shape as before the recession started, but taking a positive, we do seem to be through the worst.
I have recently read an article saying that wave 2 is on its way, I think some battening down of the hatches is on the cards for the next year or two, but I reain solid in my thought that if you run a good company with good quality and service you wil surf through these times relatively unscathed |
