I have been noticing this in the hosting business, and I am sure that it could also aply to other markets as well. There are many portals (specifically in the hosting market) on the world wide web that are offering a place for you to leave feed back for hosting companies. Review hosting companies, and etc. on several of these sites you will find that the portal will suggest the TOP 10 hosting companies. While you may see my name there one day lol, please be advised that the companies that are in that list have paid a nice price to be there. Just because the hosting companies are in the top 10 lists on those sites does not mean that they are the among the top 10 hosting firms.
I don't think many business people are that naive these days. Key things most people look for when it comes to shared hosting are reliability, ie you will keep my website up, value for money, and professionalism, ie quality support if things do go wrong. Although reviews are a good start, googling negative comments is far more efficient to find out what people really think, and this works for any business ![]() |
