Qantas must be licking its wounds after damaging industrial action. It's an interesting set up in Australia:
"Fair Work Australia, the national industrial tribunal, has the power to suspend or terminate industrial action"
and they decided that the unions had to return to the negotiating and come to an agreement.
"Fair Work Australia said its ruling had taken into account its concern for the vulnerability of the tourism industry"

So sounds like politics came to the rescue. I bet British Airways wish they had similar support during their industrial action nightmare in 2010.
