YouTube plans a subscription service and blocks indie labels

Interesting move by Google as it looks to turn YouTube into a subscription service. There has been a back lash by independent artists and labels who have resisted Googles license terms, who are claiming terms are unfavourable.

"By not giving their subscribers access to independent music YouTube is setting itself up for failure... The vast majority of independent labels around the world are disappointed at the lack of respect and understanding shown by YouTube."Full BBC article

Could be interesting times ahead if enough artists join forces and snub You Tube, especially with rival Apple and Amazon services. Is the Google steamroller big enough to squash any voices of discontent?
