Yeah the ticket fiasco was a bit of a headliner. At least the track and field draw was at max capacity. And hopefully some of the veterans were able to get some good seats for that one last night.

I don't know what I'd be more nervous with: driving the car or detailing it. ![]() Olympic Ceremony Feedback 6th August 2012 7:22 PM Congrats to Murray! The hard work's finally paying off and one can only hope Wimbeldon is in the cards down the way. Or maybe even the upcoming U.S. Open? He's got the defense to do it on hard courts. is I.T. the curse of big business... 6th August 2012 7:10 PM LinkedIn and other high-profile companies like Sony experienced some turbulent IT woes with profiles being compromised. There are some great ITs out there doing splendid work with firewalls and other security measures, but for every great IT, there's a person from Anonymous or somewhere else finding a way to break through. The NSA just recently went to some major conference for hackers and the lot and tried openly recruiting them. Social Networking for Business - is it worth it? 6th August 2012 6:56 PM A lot of the benefits of social media marketing stems from having a collaborative effort to so from the entire office, and not just one person. Work on building a community first and foremost, and from there, once you've reached out to contacts related to your industry, you can become more approachable to advertise brands...as long as you do it naturally and honestly. Develop your social clout and be active. Don't become dormant the minute you get a lead from social networking. Facebook results - Oh dear, $157m loss! 6th August 2012 6:00 PM And now they're trying to release Facebook Stories which is somewhat similar to Yahoo Voices to provide more personalization for each user. Only problem is I see that being flooded with useless content in a matter of months. That said, I think the Facebook brand itself will be ok down the road. They're too smart to really screw it up. The only thing they should've done was think up a better IPO entrance. There are plenty of ways to market that platform, they just need to get their ducks in order and stop frightening the investors away. Internal HR People 6th August 2012 5:54 PM I can understand the temptation to outsource HR personnel if the staff is relatively small, but as you expand, you should really focus towards hiring in-house HR not just for better workplace compliance training, but for reasons being that employees will have an easier time communicating face-to-face with the HR staff. Albeit, the HR team has sufficient training and the means to deliver proper training videos the staff underneath them. Many times there are instances of "on-the-fly" lessons when a problem arises, rather than preparing the office beforehand. Companies can manage this through better, more customized e-learning procedures. How did you come up with your company name? 6th August 2012 3:19 PM Our name was really a spontaneous stream of consciousness. I'd like to say there was some history or meaning behind it, but we really just winged it. |
