Becoming a Non Smoker 1st March 2012 10:00 PM
I think I am forgiven, my good lady has brought me a glass of wine and a cheery smile to advise she is going to bed. I guess the hope will be I get happily intoxicated and forget about the fact that I have been a complete **** today. Guess I am going to spend the money saved on flowers or a trip to London!

It's good to be back

Thanks for all the support It does help.
I nearly lost it today with a stroppy customer (Taken the week off work and my day job to avoid extra stress and inapropriate decision making). The wife then asked me to work in the shop because I looked bored!

"BORED" I shouted, that's Just "Fine" I said, you have the fecking day off, do some ironing or whatever it is you do when you get "bored".

Mumbling and grumbling I "stormed" my way to the shop, the first customer arrives to have a moan that her printer cartridge is now empty "but" if you hold it up to the light you can see that there is still some ink left in it....!

I replied in a calm, collected and responsive tone explaining the replacement cartridge will be

2011 has been a busy year at the Hornsea Ink Shop and I wanted to say a big thanks to everyone at MLF for there help, support and guidance (along with Steve telling me off!). Our web site has grown and we are still learning, however 2012 is a new year and a new challenge

Keep up the good work and we wish every member of MLF a very happy and prosperous new year!
"all" Court cases/crimnal procedings (magistrates and crown) remain in the public domain. "Everyone" has the right to sit in court (public gallery) unless the judge can give a very good reason for not doing so. Reporters take advantage of this fact. It would be a good idea to charge a small fee though. I can recomend a visit to your local court, more so if it is an intersting case like a banker charged with fraud!

And yes, it is

Every court in the land has a resident reporter. From simple drink driving to the most serious charges you can imagine, it will be picked up, it will be reported and you (the defendant) have no control over how this is presented to the public. Serious crimes attract more hype and are often less accurate.

Those tasked with direct risk assessment, the preparation of pre and post sentence reports are shouted down by the press and publicly ridiculed for being "too soft". This "judgement" is not based in fact (because the press seldom have the facts) but they do hold sway over the public. As a Probation Officer I do not have an issue with recommending custody if that is required. However, custody is expensive and has very little impact on reoffending, a fact that the press seldom report.

It costs
Why can't SEO's be performance based? 18th September 2011 11:05 AM
Congrats on doubling your visitors, have your sales/leads also increased since visitors increased? Sounds like you are doing a good job on your own. I'm new here but it seems the people of MLF are all happy to help :-).

Our leads/sales have increased but it has been hard work. I am not an IT expert and to be honest I didn't have a clue how to build our website (hornsea ink shop) or how to optimise it. The advice I was given by friends etc was to link build (didn't know what that was either), spam and blog my way to the top of google. I found MLF by accident, thought I would dump a link and never come back. "Steve" pointed out the error of my ways, I sulked a while but hung around and started to read what others had to say. I got good advice and started to apply that to our site and it is working. It's just a shame that I don't have more time to spend on MLF becuase I know it would be worth every second! Stick with it and you will get there. The best advice I can give being if you are not sure "ask" the people on here will give you a straight answer but be prepared that answer will always be very honest and to the point!:

A huge: to MLF
we are growing.

OK, given that SEO's promise the earth (for a small fee) and given that you can track performance, calculate sales v traffic and estimate media cost per sale (to within a few pence). Why oh why can't you find an SEO who is willing to put his/her money where their mouth is? In recent weeks I have been told my traffic will "double", that's great I said, achieve that and I will glady pay you double the fee....erm....no sorry it does not work like that we would like our money first please..I wonder why? If it helps, MLF has pointed me in the right direction, I am not an expert but my traffic has doubled anyway. We are getting sales and we are making progress and it cost "nowt" so a huge thanks to MLF.

34000 Police jobs to be axed 14th August 2011 8:57 AM
It's true steve, one of my Police colleagues told me yesterday that he and a few others were drafted in to the London area. He said when they arrived, jumped out of the van the southern softies simply "ran away". I guess they were not sure about taking on a bunch of "cod-heads", only trouble was my friend (and his mates) were a little too large around the middle to catch em..
