This may be a short-lived PC hissy fit but ... my computer's still refusing to put me through to both the ezinearticles and goarticles sites. I've tried going via Google, links on directory lists etc. I don't get as far as trying to log on.

The computer's quite happy to put me through to directories I haven't tried (eg Squidoo, Technorati). It doesn't seem to jib on any other site.

I can take the low tech route of using another computer to access these sites but am wondering why my PC's suddenly playing up on only two perfectly OK sites. Anyone else experienced any similar behaviour plse?
Hi Tomsk

I think this might have been a D'oh moment - I've been on another computer half an hour later and had no problems looking at either site

Unless I get back to everyone - PLEASE forget I spoke! Best wishes Linda
OK I panic easily .....

Having just prepared a long overdue article for GoArticles, I tried to submit it today ... and found I couldn't get into the site (even when I Googled it and tried other links).

So I tried ezinearticles with same result.

Can anyone tell me plse - do these directories still exist (they took a pasting from Panda but I'd have thought they wouldn't go out of business)?

If they don't exist, can you recommend another directory likely to be as good for SEO purposes plse?

THANKS all. Linda

It's snowing here ... need something to make us feel more cheerful!
You learn something every day, don't you ...

Read the article with interest and will pass it on to Rob and Keith (who look after my site for me). Now realise the golbnet and forex hits may not have been as good expressions of interest in CPUK as I'd thought! thumbsdown

GRRR and more GRRR but thanks for info and tips, Steve.
It's all mysterious-er and mysterious-er, Steve. thumbsdown

And as you'll see from searching Google.com Groups on spikes in site hits (more useful search term is server "Ian Duggan" though he says he's nowt to do with what's happening), I'm not the only site owner experiencing this. I think it would be worth everyone's while just checking whether they've had mysterious clusters of site hits from the "Ian Duggan" server, Portland and / or "Stevenson Ranch".

Nobody seems to be able to work out what's happening or why -some site owners believe there've been malicious files placed on their sites. What's also included in the Google.com info are details of various investigations the site owners have / had done and fixes they've tried. Am pleased to say my own website hosters have acted very quickly to block any malicious action.

Would be interested to hear of any developments. Best wishes, Linda
I had 83 visits from "Stevenson Ranch" (California) just recently and wondered why so many people from there would suddenly be interested in a career counselling, career management and job search support site ONLY interested in UK or UK based clients ...

Anyone else been through the same experience plse? Were you suddenly inundated with offers of low cost drugs and a new and more exciting private life?????? Best wishes, Linda
Being an internet business and working from home is okay if you are a sole trader and stay that way, but the minute you are big enough to need to take on staff, then you're going to need an office.

Depends on whether your staff have to come to your workplace to work or can tele-work. The trend is already towards more tele-working / hot-desking for the many for at least part of their working hours.

Hope you're going to tell "them" about the pothole in the road that caused your accident and explain you want compensation for the damage it's done to you and your bike as well as a pretty rapid repair of said pothole ....

Also, of course, you realise the "fine" was issued by mistake. Could "they" please confirm by return of email that the fine has been cancelled?

Good luck!
