That's It... 22nd March 2016 10:51 AM

Aww what a shame

Mine decided it was a good idea to bring yet another live mouse home at 1am. They do like to test you !

This is getting funny now as my solicitors after 5 months of trying, have still not received any acknowledgement / correspondence from either the boiler manufacturer or their insurers.... Time to ramp up the pressure would have been much simpler if they had just apologised and covered my lost earnings and that would have been the end of the matter......”

Sometimes insurance companies are indefensible

They know they are in bed for a claim, its a fairly straight forward case so they really should stop messing around and pay up.

It would help close the whole saga for you too buddy.

Keep us all posted - good luck

A Barrel of Laughs 22nd March 2016 10:41 AM
What a difference a couple of months make, up to around $40 a barrel now.....

Yep - noticed that the price is creeping up again - most places around me are back to over that £1 a litre threshold - seems £101.9 is about the average locally for both diesel & petrol

I agree with Ray that perhaps locking them up isnt the answer.

Stocks first (sorry, we have to get that barbaric urge out the way first) then hard labour making good their damage.

Or make them work unpaid to pay back any damage that they cannot repair, say for example the 5 foot long scratch along the side of my car - probably at least £1000 of damage! Ohh i'd leave a few dozen eggs outside to rot nicely, douse the little ba***rds in them first, then make 'um work until their fingers bled or they couldn't stand because their backs ache .......

Ok just ranting now

Mine is on loan to the other half - checked the fluff trap at the weekend as i was round & it was chock full of fluff  !!!!!

Must check the model number as it's bound to be on the hit list

Gender Equality 21st March 2016 2:30 PM

I get equality but at the same time, equal pay is fine if its for equal work.

Tennis - Grand slam finals are 5 sets for men, 3 for woman - is it fair that the woman are trying to get the same prize money?

I read the article about the stalker - not sure how the Hotel is caulpable -also  not sure how the perpetrator is going to find his share of the $55million!! Yes of course he deserves to be fined and imprisoned but is it really an equality issue?

I think gender can be used in the wrong scenarios just to bring home a point much as is race relations. If you see colour or gender and not a PERSON then its game over IMHO

Ouch !!

Yep the Birmingham fee does seem good value, although it still peeves me.

Makes me smile when you come off the M42 and join the Coventry Road that a small que of cars are parked up, presumably waiting for a loved one to ring and say they are through Customs.

At £1 per 10 mins it doesnt take long to rack up a tidy parking fee for simply being in the pickup/drop off carpark.

There is no consideration for anyone that has traveled some distance only to find that there is a delay on the arrival, even with the information being available online.

Hi Steve

Yes, am in good company.  Had pleasure, for two years, of sitting opposite Colonel who took Philip Hammond to task about Fusiliers cuts.  He was the one whose comment I used above, about putting petty criminals in the Army.  Also saw Michael Mosley's programme about how USA treats its veterans, especially prosthetic limb provision.  Our friends across the pond aren't perfect but they certainly do a lot for their military past and present.

I too can be very un-PC, so it's good to know your audience!”

Good to know we have another defender of common-sense.

Its all too easy these days to give a defense of, bad upbringing etc but IMHO nothing excuses such narrow minded needless vandalism.

I understand theft (dont agree with it obviously) as you can sell the stolen goods to feed drug habits or even food or the family but what does vandalism get you?

Is it wrong that i prefer the other model???

It does stink though and terrible that another companies idea is "stolen", under Copyright too.

I am guessing there is something we are not being told yet or the Copyright isn't as clear as being made out.

Have to be honest i'm finding the whole thing boring. How bad is that when it's so serious?

There has to be a solid argument from both sides but rolling out these boring anecdotal MP's with scaremongering going on from both camps just adds to my apathy towards this.

Be interesting to see if things get clearer nearer the time of voting.
