Schumacher Medical Notes Stolen 24th June 2014 2:08 PM

Sickened to hear today that Michael Schumachers medical notes have been stolen and put on sale prompting his management team to issue a warning over the publication of the documents.

What sick individual would want to do such a thing - presumably the gutter press are lining up for a snippet of gossip.

Hope someone is stupid enough to publish the report and will wait for the wrath of Schumys agent when they issue a Law suit.

On the plus side seems has regained consciousnesses and been transferred to an alternative medical centre closer to home - fingers crossed he continues in his battle to recover, I fear we may never see him in public again though

Disabled man shot in his wheelchair 23rd June 2014 11:23 AM

Guessing Barney they must have realised it was an air rifle, still could do some damage with it though.

Still can't believe he feels hard done by for getting shot!

What's pets do you have? 23rd June 2014 11:21 AM
Guess he came in via the cat flap .....

I keep mine closed now - neighbours 4 cats used to help themselves to my cats food when i first moved in.

Mine has established itself as topcat now though, so she normally scares anything out the garden but still keep the flap closed.

Looking at investing in one of those magnetic ones, problem is mine keeps losing her collar so she'd never get in

They were demonstrating a 3d printer at a high school walk around i was doing with my youngest last year - seem to recall them "printing" a teapot - wonder how long it will be until some bright spark reprogrammes it to do something else

Wi-fi Balloons 20th June 2014 2:03 PM

Never heard of such a thing until i read this story earlier.

BBC News

Seems Google use balloons to get Wi-fi to remote locations and one was seen plummeting to earth in New Zealand, prompting a full scale search operation as a worried passer by contacted authorities believing it was a plane!

These 12 metre high things float around in the stratosphere and last around 100 days before coming down. Apparently Google intend to send up over 400 of these things and you need a special aerial to get coverage.

Google have promised to repay the cost of recovery -which included a rescue boat & helicopter.

World Cup - Interested? 20th June 2014 1:51 PM

It wont though - BBC & ITV will still show every boring game up to the end whether we are in or out

Friday Humour - Hashtag Lemmings 20th June 2014 10:29 AM

Not that i'm really that interested but yes its mathematically possible for us to progress.

Was forced to watch last 30 mins of the game last night, my glass nearly went through the screen at the smugness of Suarez - he's a cheat, a racist and has a penchant for human flesh !

Reading the news earlier and its seems that Android & windows phones currently dont have a lock down facility like their iphone counterparts making them much more attractive for theft.

It is now soon to be added, making the phone useless once activated.

Phone theft is big business around the World, recall that over 3million devices were stolen in the USA last year while 1 in 3 Europeans last year had a mobile stolen or lost!

After recovering from firstly chocking to spewing a mouthful of coffee across my desk, just wanted to say thanks

What a brilliant story

Maybe we should turn this on to a joint thread what we did as kids .... well that we will admit to and should the record be wiped at 18?

I had a fascination with fire - no i wasn't a great arsonist but i did but blow up my fair share of canisters in the woods - was lucky enough both never to burn myself or be cautioned for it!

"Due to reports that some Star 9500 smartphones are loaded with spyware, eBay is not allowing the sale of these devices as a precautionary measure," a spokesman told the BBC.

"A German security firm reported on Tuesday that the Android-powered Star N9500 sent personal data to a computer server in China, adding that the Trojan could not be removed."

"Unbeknownst to the user, the smartphone sends personal data to a server located in China and is able to covertly install additional applications. This makes it possible to retrieve personal data, intercept calls and online banking data, read emails and text messages or control the camera and microphone remotely."

Blimey - just read this article - bit too close to home for me as i was trying to persuade my youngest to go for this due to the cost difference, for once i backed down - how glad am i that i did!

Not sure if anyone is looking or has one of these but i'd do some more research !
