I don't think so..

How so? It has been a while since I read about this as well, so maybe Germany was on it own with this?
I have had a few OMG moments. updating a plugin on my (private) domain. Everything was fine until I refreshed, and my blog was reduced to a one line error message....

Maybe its safer to say regular backups and keeping your site up to date? I would have been lost without a backup. Seriously.
Duplicate content always had me worried. I would rather write one article per submission. IMHO spinning has always been bad. Its just to easy to take your article or someone elses' (I have seen that), and then spin it into something that barely makes sense.

Article submission can still work. If its well written, and geared towards visitors and not search engines. But these days, its all about doing things quickly, getting those links out there to point back to your site. I think that is why I am actually happy Google brought out the zoo to tame these guys. There are a lot of really good sites out there with awesome content, and these other "marketers" are dirtying the playing field. (/rant)
I'd say. Looks like almost nothing is sacred anymore. I try to keep everything updated as well as I can. There are days when I am too busy, but I am beginning to think I should treat this in the same way I would my PC updates. If it doesn't get done, stuff will go wrong.
maybe forum post = more exposure
2 FB likes on new blog post = shows content is of interest
negative feedback or reviews = issue or problem that needs addressing

There I would agree as well. I've been reading a good many blogs lately and to be serious, if you know what you're doing doesn't go against the rules, you're cool. No need to worry unless you know something's shady on your site. With everything pointing to doing things manually, slowly, and naturally, its kinda bringing out the worst in some and the best in others.

Some would try harder to write something engaging, whereas others are turning their software up a notch thinking its all going to be ok.
I am noticing more IM's are claiming that SEO is not the be all and end all, and that there are too many other avenues that need to be thought of. When you said reputation, I think you kinda nailed it, and I also think that it is something that a lot of SEO's nowdays are neglecting in lieu of quicker results.
ipod touch vs iphone 11th May 2012 7:56 AM
I am iPhone biased There is just so much more you can do with an iPhone than you could with an iPod. But, as you said, you don't need a mobile for computing, so maybe budget wise, an iPod might be better.

The link is not working for me. I get a 404 not found.
website builder advice 9th May 2012 8:30 AM
I would personally think it is better to look into a cms like joomla, drupal or wordpress rather than using a website builder.

There I would agree, especially with WordPress. I mean, not only does it take care of everything for you, but you can study PHP and read through the multitudes of sites that teach you about WP, and you can end up coding fresh new templates yourself. So its really quite versatile IMHO.
School Holidays 9th May 2012 8:25 AM
eh, its not always that easy, especially when you have a teen with rather expensive tastes. lol. I do work from home, so its not much of an issue with 2 artists that would rather sit around painting or drawing. its just the computer wars that get me most days (which is why there are 3 ) I can understand the need for holidays, don't get me wrong, but when it comes to the school syllabus and teachers saying there is not enough time to cover everything that needs to be done, I start wondering how important those holidays really are.
This is what Lee Odden asked at top rank.

Why do you settle? Why do you let your company settle? Why are so many companies still siloing their SEO and social media marketing and counting success through KPIs? Even those companies that have developed their appreciation towards what SEO can do, get caught up in Google update drama or link counts and rankings vs. focusing on what
