robots.exe? Are you sure you don't mean robots.txt? I think the latter is only used to direct a search engine bot to crawl your site, setting in the file which bots had access to which pages, but I am not too sure about the first one.
Google webmaster tools has an area on your dashboard that allows you to see their crawl rate on your site. There is also software you can use to see where your traffic has come from over a specific time, and it will show when a bot has crawled as well.
