Happy to oblige!
The following sums it up nicely......
“The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four people is suffering from a mental illness. Look at your 3 best friends. If they're ok, then it's you.”

Ironically, one of the sponsors is American Express whose card fees put off smaller retailers from accepting. One of the few independent shops in my local town centre has expanded; it's one of those places where you may go to find an unusual present or to stock up on scented candles. However, the majority of smaller retailers seem to populate the craft centre set-up rather than be in town centres. Japanese Road Repairs 29th November 2016 11:20 AM Media now reporting that the sink hole recently repaired in two days is showing signs of reappearing. At the time many UK news sources questioned why road repairs here couldn't be dealt with in this way; Japanese efficiency and all that! At the reopening, the Mayor of Fukuoka said the ground was now 30 times stronger than before....... “Maybe I'm missing something on this, but the poppy comes in 3 parts all 3 parts are recyclable, why does Sainsbury need to get involved with recycling... Just pop it in the recycle bin at home..”
Good point Barney! However, recycling differs from area to area. Mine won't take foil (food containers) but the neighbouring area does. As I take my rubbish to local tip instead of having ugly wheelie bins, I've got to know what they will and won't take. Interestingly their latest recycling figure is only around 65% so still a long way to go..... I suppose Sainsbury is just doing what M&S does with recycling boxes for Christmas cards and old clothes. The Queen asks to meet Mr Farage 25th November 2016 1:00 PM In the spirit of Black Friday, HM could do a 2 for 1 offer, disposing of Mr Blair too! Its Black Friday!! 25th November 2016 12:58 PM Something else inflicted on us by our friends across the pond just like trick or treat. Yes, I've taken advantage of the price reductions over the past few days and probably again will before it's over, but I'm staying out of the shops today. Yesterday's trip to collect an order from a toy shop was okay, except the collections staff only had one scanner between them so I had to join a lengthy queue. Then decided to go to nearby shopping park to buy a gift card. Couldn't find a parking space and gave up when another motorist started shouting that I was going the wrong way. It was him that was actually going against the arrow direction. Did I get an apology, no, only a popular single digit gesture. Decided then to go home..... Perhaps I should have posted this in the Rant section! Medal fraudsters to be jailed 25th November 2016 12:48 PM Totally agree Steve. Guy was caught out recently in Liverpool (I think) by an eagle eyed ex-Serviceman who challenged him about his British Legion approval. Also down there in the gutter are the low life who steal charity boxes and deface memorials. Used to work with someone who claimed to have long associations with the military. He'd worked on one military project for a previous employer so considered himself an "authority"...... Mince Pies 22nd November 2016 1:54 PM Yes, I've bought my first pack already. Asda Baker's Selection 4-pack. I prefer the flat ones to the deep filled variety. Not too sweet, dusting of icing sugar but pastry a bit heavy (may benefit from a few seconds in the microwave?). M&S ones far too rich, the all butter pastry doesn't help. Having given up making my own because I don't have the right touch for making pastry, I do take note of what does well in taste tests. I've bought Greggs for four years now and never been disappointed, except last year when they didn't do the viennese style ones (topped with a shortbread type mixture). Anyone else succumbed yet?? |
