Ok , so I am thinking aloud as i write.

I trained as an actress at one (early) stage of my life, so one of my criteria is good acting, even over and above the overall quality of the film. and I admit to paying more attention to female actresses than men.

I never knew you use to be an actress that is great. Yeah when you have knowledge in one field (ie acting) you do get more critical in that area. I like your choice in females actresses I agree with it. They are both fantastic and versatile. I never seen Wit before I will check it out sounds good.

Yeah Garde I agree hyped films always seem to leave a feeling of disappointment after it. I can think of a few films I don't like but if it wasn't hyped so much I would maybe have enjoyed it more. Slumdog Millionaire was one for starters.

Haha Steve nothing wrong with those good old action films in the 70's. The special affects were the best.. and the car chases... they always find a pile of cardboard boxes to drive through  I love the chinese films in that era as well. The humour still makes me crack up laughing.

I like good production value in a film I like  (a modern film that is 70's/80's films excluded :P) to look good. But again back to my first point that my expertise. But my pet hate is  spoilers. If i want to or am going to see a film i HATE people telling me the ending..... you do not know how annoyed i get.... but i do love to see ti unfold itself. Saying that, it reminds me of a true story. Me and my mum were going to see Titanic...all them years ago..... and we were walking out and my mum was sayign it really good how they can make the boat sink. And 2 americans were passing and one said "Gee thanks for telling us the ending!" .... I leave it at that

Hey all

I was just wondering what films people like and more importantly why they like them.  I'm asking as have I like to know what people like to watch but also it semi market research. Trying to find out what in peoples opinion (so no right or wrong answers here  ) what exactly do they like when they say a film is good.  Also if you want to say what makes a film bad and irritates you that no problem too. But before I answer my own question I would like to hear some views first.

thanks

I know i seen a lot of theories from things which are plausible to aliens abducted it..... (apparently 5% of americans believe aliens were involved with the missing plane)... well i guess each to their own   But on a serious note it must be terrible for the family. I wonder why psychics that charge people a fortune to call the number tell people where to find it if they have the powers.......

Even if it government top secret in the end of the day it doesn't matter to the rest of us what happened (as much as we would like to know) i just wish if governments do know they would least put the family's mind to rest.

It interesting to see and hear peoples views on it. ah well it only case of days till we find out what the public choose. it hard to tell who's "winning" at the moment as so many different polls tell different stories.  If scotland do get independance i wonder if wales will try too based on this poll.

What do you think about rail fares? 20th August 2014 12:56 PM

Indeed I think it does come down to location and services available. Just sadly we can't have it as cheap or regular as they do in Hong Kong (it so cheap an hour first class is equivalent of £2.00 ish) but again they have more people using it, and also you not always guaranteed to get a set as they are design to pack in as many people as possible. It is true it need to be paid for someone, just sadly everything seem to be a rising cost and this has a knock on effect. (though i do stand buy that sunday transport should in this modern age be the same as any other day

Yeh the tram thing in edinburgh is interesting, I not used it I not even been there since they came "live". Locals hate them after the inconveniences, traffic jams etc and some people say they will make a loss, and a ticket on it costs more than the same journey by bus (though I don't know how accurate that info is) But maybe tourist will like it. and in the long term it may help congestion. I guess only time will tell.

But yeah when i go to longo I try and book early and fly if possible. It great alternative to getting the train down if you can get a good price. plus it quicker

Least we live in the modern age and not have to get around like Fred Flintstone

They took my money  when i asked them after while hasn't it been upgrade they said no upgrade been added to my account and they won't till I paid (which ofc i said I had), I said If you lose one payment I sure ain't going to make another one. I asked them to try and get the call after all all calls apparently are recoded and logged. After going in circles repeating the same conversation/story to three separate agents (non of them to seemed fully trained) eventually one got through to someone who was helpful who escalated my issue, and in the past few minutes recieved my email to say my payment has been paid and they will add it to my account.

Wish i got to speak to that agent yesterday. Sadly I didn't get a chance to evaluate the last agent or I would have gave him top marks he did spend over an hour trying to sort this out for me.  I guess customer service is so important even when your a big company. No one is perfect and ofc mistakes will be made but as long as there is willingness to fix it and not just sweep it under the carpet I think most customers will be forgiving.Thats all most people want is to be listened to and have the issue resolved.

That reminds me of a thread I haven't seen in a while, What Are You Listening To Now?

A favourite haunt of hdm who used to offer some good music choices. Shall sticky the thread and see if it resurrects itself

But inspiration wise, can't go wrong with Queen, ACDC, Iron Maiden, Guns N Roses, see a theme?

Or if doing some coding, then Enya, or anything mellow

Nuice choice it nice to know what music people are into sometimes it can help you find new music.

has anyone else had really bad service from adobe? Does anyone use good alternatives to photoshop/premier and aftereffects in particular. In the past 24 hours i experience the worst customer service in a very long time, and looking for alternatives.
