Yo! Obama in the house... 13th January 2017 10:43 AM

Would love to see Trump on the decks  Maybe playing a few throwback hits might get the other 3/4 of the USA on his side.

GP Appointments...... 13th January 2017 8:27 AM

I have had this problem! Been going back and forth from the doctors and the hospital trying to get test results. Been a nightmare, was phoning for 5 days straight trying to get an appointment and when I eventually got the appointment with my GP he still didn't have the test results and said the hospital should have given them to me- felt like I was playing tennis

Could Snapchat be a new marketing tool? 12th January 2017 9:59 AM

The social networking app 'Snapchat' is becoming more and more popular worldwide, with over 150 million active users daily the platform is slowly creeping up the ranks alongside the more well known and used sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

The social media platform can only be accessed through the app which can be downloaded from an app store or android store- free of charge

How does Snapchat work?

- Firstly add contacts on to your account; this way you have people to send Snapchats to

- A 'Snap' is a picture message that can be seen for no more than 10 seconds

- You can add your 'Snap' on to what is called a 'Snapchat Story' meaning that all your contacts are able to see that picture for 24 hours.

So how can Snapchat be a marketing tool?

  • A business can showcase new offers- or have a 24 hour offer through the Snapchat story.
  • Can reward customers with mobile coupons which can be offered through Snapchat
  • Through Snapchat you can see what customers are doing daily, customer engagement is increased
  • If you offer a product you can offer a preview through the 10 second snap length
  • Offer competitions.

Snapchat users are now increasing rapidly, meaning that a potential target audience for your business is growing.

Have a try and see what you think, any feedback would be brilliant

I will try myself too from a business perspective.

Obama says farewell... 11th January 2017 9:23 AM

Thats it then, the big man himself has said his goodbyes to America. He thanked America and told them that he had become 'a better man' since being appointed president. After eight years in the position Barack Obama has achieved much more than the American Citizens ever expected:

  • Landing the right to health insurance for 20 million more people
  • Securing marriage equality
  •  Killing the 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden
  • unleashed the longest stretch of job creation in American history.

He concluded his speech:

"My fellow Americans, it has been the honour of my life to serve you. I won’t stop; in fact, I will be right there with you, as a citizen, for all my days that remain.

"For now, whether you’re young or young at heart, I do have one final ask of you as your President – the same thing I asked when you took a chance on me eight years ago"

Many Americans were heartbroken by the words expressed by Obama and will be very sad to see him go. If Obama has said his final words it only means one storm is brewing for the USA;

Its nearly time for Trump to take full power

Pyjamas in a supermarket 5th January 2017 1:32 PM

I don't think its acceptable to a certain extent, I think if its early and the supermarket is dead then there isn't any harm to it really. I sometimes go down to the corner shop on my road in my pj's if its late at night and I fancy some chocolate

Although that hasn't happened recently because chocolate is a no go in January

There is the argument however that this is not setting a good example to younger children who's parents may have to force them to have a wash and get changed  I think that if they want to wear pyjamas  to the supermarket at least wear a coat or something to hide it rather than wearing a dressing gown because it just looks ridiculous.

I love my pyjamas, but there are boundaries

How good is your English? 5th January 2017 10:31 AM

The question that will be used more frequently as potential new laws are put in to place...

As we all know there are many immigrants living in the UK; most have moved here for a better life and better work. A lot of immigrants living in the UK can speak basic English and understand the language however others do not speak any English at all and really struggle when entering the UK to work etc.

ITV have reported:

'Immigrants should be expected to learn English before coming to Britain - or be enrolled on compulsory language classes when they arrive, according to a parliamentary report.'

The thing I find is that as Brits, when we emigrate to other countries we don't bother to learn the language we kind of pick it up as we go or we just find someone is English to communicate with  We expect others to understand us where as immigrants within the UK unfortunately don't have that pleasure.

'Fat Cash Wednesday' 4th January 2017 9:44 AM

What a way to begin the New year for top executive bosses.Top bosses will have earned more by midday on Wednesday than typical workers earn in the entire year.

I guess its alright for some Stefan Stern the High Pay centre director has said that although this is great for those earning it, it is an important reminder of the unfair pay gap in the UK.

He is right it does emphasise the unfair pay gap however most high payed executives work 12 hours a day and most weekends taking less than 10 days holiday per year; so surely this is evidence that they do work extremely hard and deserve the money they are earning. If anything this should motivate and encourage other people earning a smaller salary to work extra hard in order to aspire to build their careers and earn this type of money.

What do you think?
