Selfie Paradise 15th December 2016 9:23 AM

Shout out to all females!

The Chinese are now my favourite people in the world, they have invented an app which makes your selfies look great! The app uses different filters and offers a mirror effect which hides all imperfections

The app itself raised $629m - which gives it a valuation of $4.6bn. That makes it the biggest IPO by a technology firm in the city in almost a decade.

Although the app did struggle to make money to begin with it has taken off and is now very popular worldwide. The target audience is predominantly female.

Sorry all males

As long as it makes you look good; that does it for me

I love this  I go agree with what comes around goes around- but sometimes the matter is taken too far and its too late to come back around as the saying goes.

You're right Barney.

There are adult bullies as well as child ones.  There could be a number of reasons why adults behave that way.  Something in their parents/relatives lives that they have carried through thinking it's the norm.  I've only experienced one bully, a female who was the MD's PA.  She got so fed up with not getting a reaction from me that she started to tell lies.  Luckily my boss knew what she was doing and confronted the MD about her behaviour.  A few months later, the company was taken over and the new MD made her an offer she couldn't refuse (after the departure of her boss).  Her reaction was to accuse me of undermining her.  Redundancy letter and cheque completed very quickly.....

As the saying goes "what comes around, goes around...."”

Professionalism at its finest! 14th December 2016 1:50 PM

We can all accept and take on board constructive criticism regarding our Businesses or Business webpages. You take it on the chin and try to fix whatever the problem is. When you receive an email regarding the apparent errors on your website you have to take in to consideration the launch of a new webpage being launched so therefore there will be errors.

Its nice to get the emails highlighting potential bugs as they may be helpful however when the email is coming from a gmail address, with a signature of 'Marketing consultant' you have just got to laugh the email itself tries to use email marketing to offer their services, but the professionalism behind a gmail account is funny because you just can't see that the company is going to be of much help.

Professionalism at its finest if you ask me

Is your website safe? 14th December 2016 9:30 AM

We all know that hacking is possible when it comes to websites, social media sites etc however we tend to underestimate how dangerous hacking can actually be for a business; even a small business.

Recent news have released a story this morning stating that a 17 year old boy was able to hack in the company 'TalkTalk' and access all the information. A 17 year old boy! Just makes you think that if a 17 year old is able to hack in to a large company like 'TalkTalk' then what could someone with more should we say 'hacking experience' do?!

ITV news reported:

While he did not exploit the information for monetary gain, the TalkTalk website was targeted more than 14,000 times after the boy exposed the vulnerability.

He told magistrates "I was just showing off to my mates" as he admitted seven hacking offences.

Telecoms giant TalkTalk fell victim to what it described as a "significant and sustained" attack on its website in October 2015 and the firm said the fallout from the cyber attack cost it £42 million.

My advice to you all make sure your webpages are of high security! I really wouldn't it to cost you as much money and hassle.

Train Service Disruption Chaos 13th December 2016 9:11 AM

Looks like the southern train services are officially out of bounds for the next few days due to the strikes

The BBC have reported that:

Around 300,000 passengers usually travel on 2,242 Southern services every weekday, but they have been told there will be no trains on any route.

How inconvenient is this!? People are not going to be able to go to travel to work and around this busy time this may cause uprisings with bosses.

The train drivers have said that the strikes are due to:

The RMT union has staged strikes since April over changes to the role of conductors, and is also planning further stoppages either side of Christmas.

There have also been staff shortages, staff sickness, an overtime ban and other problems such as signal failures.

Sounds like a bad idea to me

I don't know, I have heard of a few issues regarding Argos in the last month so who knows? Maybe they've gone down hill since you got yours

Surely this must be a joke .. I gather it must be a fake tree ..We bought ours from Argos a few years ago and it was fine. These days they have a weird way of attaching the branches around the stem

Since we are on the Christmas and customer service topic, saw this tweet earlier and found it hilarious! Shouldn't really laugh but just shows how some things are perceived to be and what the actual product looks like.

just a heads up; Argos is defiantly in my bad books after all the bad feedback I have heard

Countdown to Christmas! 12th December 2016 1:28 PM

Its the #mondaymotivation you need!

The countdown has begun- 13 days and counting. Not much longer until we are sipping wine and stuffing our faces with mince pies. What better motivation than to think Christmas and new year are just around the corner.

I'd love to hear your Christmas experiences or any funny stories you have
