damm it, after putting this reply I just realised the forum does not show the URL, but gives the page titles with links
Hi Steve,

I can't help my self with some domains. I recently bought a domain for $1,000, negotiated down from about $1,900 but it's one I am going to use a project and it was the dot com, and as it's going to be an international site, I wanted the dote, I did not want a dot net or a dot org.

I am like you. I probably estimate I own close to a 1,000 domain, most of them are keyword based, and for most I don't have regrets because one side of my business is the service industry, and I have managed to survive so far over the years with hardly ever needing PPC and it's nearly all been natural search done by an amatuer like me, a DIY job. For example, I recently bought www.iphonerepair.org I think I paid $300 or $400 for it. Although I have not started using it, I just installed a site, I thought, if I get 5 pieces of business then it pays for itself, it's a top level exact match domain. Wheras, I own www.iphonerepairworkshop.co.uk and it's not a great domain but it ranks OK in London, and gets business. What do you think, I paid too much for the dot org?

I am also no longer interested in the iPhone repair business. It's because people want it instantly, whereas with iPads, Laptops and other repair, people are happy to wait a day or two.
Thanks. I could have bought this 2 letter domain for a very good price. But then I weighed it up in terms of what I could do with it, and I realised not much so I let it go. I am not in the business of buying and selling domains. I buy them to use them, and sell the ones that I don't use or let them expire.

Thanks.
I know this is probably not the easier question to answer, but how much do you think a 2 letter co.uk domain is worth?

For example ab.co.uk or ef.co.uk?
I really like that article. It's so true. She really doesn't beat about the bush. She gets straight to the point.
It is a great source of traffic if you can create great videos. However, creating really good and interesting videos is very time consuming or costly.
Hi, thanks for your reply.

Are you saying .org.uk will beat .org and .net, all other things being equal?
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or any data on the following situation.

a) All things being equal, and you had a .org and .org.uk who wins in the Serps results for the "UK"?

b) Does .net's have less weight in the UK, I have always struggled to get .net's ranking, plus I see very few .nets on the serps in the UK. Or is it just me?

c) All things being equal, and you had a .net and .org.uk who wins in the Serps results for the "UK"?

I know loads of people will say .org's etc are charity, and you people view .org's as charity etc, and you should think about branding etc. I understand all those arguments (look at seomoz.org not a charity). These are not spam websites. However, this is a specific question about who would win, or if there is any data available about who win's in a normal race on the serps in the UK. I am not interested in world rankings just the UK. Thank you.
i AM CURIOUS. Now nearly a year on. Did anyone invest? Did anyone make any money? Was it a scam?
There are loads of people who are genuinely poor through no fault of their own, and live in very bad conditions. And there is what I call the 70% who in my opinion, have a question mark against them.

There is also that 20% of the population, that pays close to 50% tax, works hard, and takes very little from the system. Most small business oweners probably fall in that category. Taxing is one thing, but people want to see something for it. It's like paying road tax every year, then every single road around you is full of pot holes year after year. Then you begin to wonder where the money is going. In my opinion, local councils and government create new taxes as a way of generating money. The cause is not often what benefits. They know people have not choice and will pay. It is the lower income bracket who will cover the cost of law like this. I am using that law as one example. In my opinion the whole system is corrupt. I used to believe we lived in one of few countries in the world where corruption was so small it was negligible. Since the MP's expenses, various police corruption big cases in the media, and media itself being shown to be the most corrupt, I now believe we live in country/society that has serious corruption issues. I was probably a bit too naive.
