Page 1! 15th February 2011 8:46 PM
Well, was I reminiscing or was I feeling peckish... ...I can't remember but either way I was wondering how Mama C Brownies was getting on, so I did a search on Google, Brownies Home Delivery and it was in the number 1 spot on Page 1.

So I hunted back for this thread, and have now searched for brownie delivery referenced eariler in this thread and it's in 2nd place on Page 1 of Google.

Looking at the website, I'm impressed. Whilst you can see where there may be some tweaks required I have to say that a lot of work has gone into it and clearly the business is going well, looking at her tweets she had a new kicthen in (with 3 ovens!) in December so it must be all go!

It's good to see a success being made of it - plenty of other promotional work as well, Mama C's Brownies - News & Offers and has even introduced the chocolate brownie club last month.

Very good - Well Done Nadya! Feel free to pop back and offer your words of wisdom....

Google Page1 for Grumpy Clive 15th February 2011 4:56 PM
Reckon there's any call for grumpy clive t-shirts and mugs?

Yes - clearly we'll be in direct competition with Victor Meldrew ..but I'm sure they'll be unable to sell mugs and t-shirts cos of the BBC's licensing rules. So you can just slide in and tap that market
.... oh and the arms industry

You better get back in to the forces then!! Though as you know they don't seem to be very well treated at the moment!

Poor old Clive aka Garde

It's come to light that as a result of a forum post, if you type in Grumpy Clive into google, our man Clive is number 1...

Didn't realise seo could be so much fun

Admittedly, not much competition but still EXCELLENT!

Anybody wanting to check quickly that he is still in the No.1 spot.... Grumpy Clive - Google Search

I can see a brand that could develop out of this. Get the domain name while you can grumpyclive.com.

Are you going to treat him to his own domain name Steve?
Auto Windscreen goes into administration 14th February 2011 8:20 PM
What I found most striking about this news article is the danger many businesses can run into - an over reliance on one customer that provides the bulk of income. To quote, One of its major customers terminated its contract with Auto Windscreens. It shows that it can happy to a company of any size!

Appropriate for Valentine's Day?

Saw it via a retweet from Stephen Fry. Copied & pasted below...

I think your quote summed it up..

"How many of you came here hoping to do some business today, maybe even make a sale?
what do you tweet ? 10th February 2011 1:32 PM
I'll confess to having to google "puissant" obviously didn't pay attention at school ......

Ditto, so just to save people looking it up..

puissant
- powerful; mighty; potent.

I think it is better used to engage with people about things that interest you. Don't expect to tweet business related stuff and to get instant results. You may be fortunate to get success that way but I'd say in most cases it's a social tool, that can help develop confidence in your services/products over time.
